Chapter 185 Ch 185: Inside The Maze
_Waterfall Of Tomorrow_
Alex was standing at the bottom of the Waterfall Of Tomorrow with Viresh and a few elders.
Previously, in the Alchemist Association, Viresh brought Alex inside an alchemy room that was exclusive to him and the President of Alchemist Association only. Then he asked Alex if he wants to become a member of the Alchemist Association or not.
Alex obviously rejected his offer.
But Viresh didn't give up. He then thought about something and immediately executed his plan. His plan was to make the President talk to Alex directly. But to that, he has to first go to the Waterfall of Tomorrow and look for the President.
According to the previous agreement, he was prepared to go to the Waterfall Of Tomorrow and look for President since he had yet to come back even though so many days has already passed.
Thus, he asked Alex if he wants to go with him to the Waterfall Of Tomorrow or not.
Alex, of course, doesn't know a single thing about the Waterfall Of Tomorrow, however, when Viresh told him about it, his eyes lit up. He then immediately agreed to go to the Waterfall of Tomorrow.
His main intention in agreeing was not to look for the President but to look for the Stone of Tomorrow. Although no one is able to find it and people have started thinking that it is just a myth, Alex still decided to give it a try. And with the System, he was quite confident that he could obtain the Stone of Tomorrow if it really exist in reality.
Thus, he spent three days coming to the Waterfall of Tomorrow with Viresh and others of the Alchemist Association.
After some time, Viresh said to everyone "Let's enter!" and dashed toward the place of collision where the waterfall collide against the ground. Surprisingly, the moment he reached there, he disappeared somehow.
This caused Alex to open his wide open.
Other people started entering the same way, so Alex also followed behind and entered the Waterfall Of Tomorrow, and appeared in an entirely new space.
Alex swept his eyes over the surrounding environment which was a huge forest. The trees here were practically no different from the trees outside, but such a misconception was immediately answered with a negative answer the moment he raised his head.
That was because the sky above them was filled with the sun and stars at the same time. Such an illusory scene caused him to be stunned.
What is going on? Is this really something that the Tribe Of Tomorrow made in order to hide the Stone Of Tomorrow?
Alex frowned once again...
"This is... the terrain doesn't match the map. What is going on?"
At this time, an elder, who was holding the map and looking at it carefully, frowned and said while making a puzzled expression on his face.
"What? Give it to me!"
Viresh also frowned and took the map from that elder. The more he looked at the map and the surroundings, the more his expression changed. After some time, he finally said: "I think we now know why President and others haven't returned even till now!"
"Why, Vice President?" Someone asked.
Viresh replied: "It is because the terrain of this maze has already changed. In the past hundreds of thousands of years, the terrain of this maze has changed a total of two times. I think this is the third time when the terrain has changed, and someone must have triggered something inside the maze that caused such a change to occur."
"Anyway, everyone, be careful. We have to look for the President and others, and also remember the way back. There are many dangers inside the maze so don't separate in any situation."
Everyone started moving forward slowly but carefully.
Two hours later, they finally arrived at a place of intersection inside the forest. There was a massive stone building in front of them. If one were to look down from high altitudes, they would see that this building covered an area of several dozen miles. It was absolutely a colossal building that has never been seen in the outside world before.
After that, they found four entrances, each of which had an entrance that allowed them to enter the building.
It is not the first time that someone has discovered this building. There have been many records where it is explained how someone saw this building and after entering, they obtained many treasures that changed their entire lives. And at the same time, there were also some people who never came out of this building.
On the map, this building was marked very far away, but they encountered it just two hours after entering the maze.
It was proof that the terrain of the maze has changed.
Viresh chose the eastern entrance and told everyone to follow him carefully. According to what Viresh had said, the eastern entrance is definitely better than any other entrance to enter the gigantic building.
Alex, who was standing in the middle of a group of people, stood at the building's entrance. He could not feel any kind of energy fluctuations from this building, as if this was really just an ordinary building. But his intuition was telling him that this building is definitely not as simple as it looked on the surface. He even had the thought that not entering the building is the best option.
"Let's go." Viresh opened his mouth once again and took the lead to enter the building. Alex naturally followed them. Even though he felt that it was dangerous, he had already walked all the way here, so it would be better for him to figure out what is inside the building.
According to Viresh, they have to look at each and every place they can in order to find the President and other missing people. These people could be anywhere, maybe inside the building as well. So they could not ignore the building and continue moving forward. They have to enter the miles-big building and explore.
The moment they entered the building, they appeared in a long corridor that seemed endless. And although there was no fire on either side of the corridor, it did not give people a feeling of darkness. As they advanced, everyone was naturally on alert for any changes to their surroundings, just in case something unexpected might appear from the shadows.
They continued to walk, however, even after walking for more than an hour, they never left the corridor. They were still in the same corridor.
"Strange, why is this corridor so long?" Some of the people on the team started to complain. Right at that moment, they finally saw the end of the corridor. This action lifted everyone's spirits.
But the moment he saw the exit, Alex immediately asked about the faint smell of blood in the air.
Something was wrong.
Not only him, but Viresh also sensed this.
"Be careful everyone, there's a scent of blood!" Viresh hurriedly warned everyone. However, his speed was still a step too slow. Two excited people rushed to the front of the group and quickly rushed out.
But nothing had happened. Just like that, they stood outside the hallway and turned around to look at Viresh, who had issued a reminder just now. It was as if they did not understand what he had said just now.
Nothing?
Alex and Viresh felt surprised.
Could it be that they sensed wrongly?
Just as this thought appeared in his mind, a streak of blue light suddenly descended from above, enveloping those people. Following that, those people were directly swallowed up by the blue light. Without even a chance to scream, they instantly turned into a skeleton. Then, after a short time, they collapsed onto the ground, turning into a pile of ashes that seeped into the ground.
"AHH!" One person in the group immediately let out a frightened cry and almost fell to the ground. As for the others, they were all stunned on the spot.
"Just now… Just what happened…" Someone in the group finally spoke. However, his voice was obviously trembling and his fearful mood was immediately discernible.
Alex was equally shocked in his heart. The appearance of that blue light was something he had never expected or seen before.
Viresh was the same. Initially, seeing that the two people who had left were fine, he had thought that there was no danger. Who would have thought that such a thing would happen in the blink of an eye?
However, the power of that blue light was simply too terrifying. To be able to instantly turn two powerful martial warriors into skeletons that soon turned into ashes after falling down, even if it is a Void King Stage martial warrior, they can't do something like this.
Furthermore, the blue light had absorbed all of the cultivators' flesh and blood, making them feel that it was abnormal no matter how they looked at it. There must be something hidden in that blue light.
