Chapter 138 Do You Not Recognize Me?
My eyebrows started twitching as I listened to the chaos that quickly spread around.
It seems like everyone didn't expect me to become the clan head of the Luo. Well, those who know me should be even fewer, so I expected it to some extent. Even those of the royal family, who were wearing the most gorgeous-looking clothes around, were tilting their heads in wonder.
I held the sides of the dais tightly, supporting my wobbly body. My lack of sleep was quickly catching up on me, making me feel so sleepy I could just drop down at any moment. I should've just slept obediently last night.
My eyes must look like they're about to close, but I'm forcefully keeping them open with brute force. Ember behind me was shifting around, worried about my state, and seemed ready to jump to support my body any second. For that reason, a lot of the guys are staring at her intently.
My vision shook, forcing me to close my eyes. As soon as I did, the rowdy crowd quieted down. I opened my eyes only to see everyone looking in my direction with awkward and scared expressions. What could be the reason?
Anyway, it was perfect timing. My turn to speak has come. I cleared my throat lightly before I spoke to the microphone in front of me. My voice, amplified by the speakers around me, reached far and wide and reverberated in everyone's ears.
"My name's Will. Everyone, it's nice to meet you."
My voice was hoarse for some reason, but it was probably due to my lack of sleep. However, right after my sentence ended, a large part of the audience knelt down for some reason.
The rest of them looked extremely frightened too.
Did I say something wrong? Ah, my vision is getting blurry again. I got off-balance and ended up slapping the podium. The microphone picked up the sound and amplified it, making everyone listening jump in surprise.
I'm starting to think that I'm doing something wrong here. I looked over at Guren, but he was just standing still with a blank expression. No, he was actually pinching his back with his right hand. He was holding back his laughter!
I really did something wrong! I don't know what it was, but getting out of here quickly is the best course of action for me.
Instead of following the script that they prepared for me, which would take a few minutes at least to pass, I summarized it and told it to everyone present as concisely as possible.
"Everyone should be hearing of me for the first time, but I am also the current head of the Seimei family."
Everyone was visibly surprised to hear that additional information.
"Two of the current five God tamers pushed for me to be the head of the two clans. They are God Zeshion and Goddess Vermeil. If you have problems with me being the new family head, then bring your problems through them first."
Ah, that came out as a bit provocative. I was supposed to just lightly hint that those two are supporting my appointment, but with how I worded it, it sounds like they were the ones who put me in position. Well, it's not really that far from the truth, so it's good either way.
"We prepared a little feast for everyone, so please enjoy. I'll stay in the hall over there, so just visit me if you want to say hello."
I quickly went down the dais and walked to the hall I just pointed at. Ember quickly came to my side and supported me, with Igni doing the same from the other side. Fang kept her vigilance for some reason, intimidating everyone around her.
The hall wasn't that far, so we quickly reached it. It was a large detached building spanning a few dozen meters on one side. There, Priestess Harumi was already waiting, looking at me with a worried expression.
"Clan Head, are you really fine? Don't you need to sleep?"
She asked.
I lightly waved my hand and shook my head, a wry smile creeping up my face as I sat down on the large throne.
I sighed deeply with my eyes closed, enjoying the soft sensation of the seat. Oh, wait, that was Ember, who got pulled down as I sat. I tried to stand up to let Ember get out, but she quickly pulled at my waist.
"Master, it's fine like this~."
She had an extremely blissful smile on her face, so I just went along with her wish. I shifted a little to one side to allow her to have space for herself on the throne.
Igni, for some reason, joined in and sat on my other side. The already cramped throne became a lot more stuffy, with two soft things smothering me from both sides. She had a sweet frown on her face as she fluffed up her cheeks in a cute display of envy. It was definitely out of her usual character... Just what happened?
Fang's ears twitched as a smile appeared on her face. She quickly entered the vacant spot between my legs and rested her head on my thigh. She closed her eyes as if she were a cat enjoying a good sleeping place.
With the three girls hounding me from all sides, although it makes me feel wonderful, I can't move one bit. At this moment, the door opened and a dozen figures came in.
"Greetings, new Luo Clan Head, Will. I'm the mayor of a small town on the east strand, Porus Hail. Here is my son, Zen. We came here to pay our respects."
My sleepy eyes widened at the sight of the familiar face.
"Fatty Zen..."
I muttered unconsciously.
Although he seemed to have lost a bit of weight, his face was one that I wouldn't forget. I recalled the countless times that he battered me before I regained my memories of a past life. I could feel my emotions raging.
"Eh?"
He seemed surprised as I called him by name. His reaction made me reveal a vicious smile on my face. I must've leaked my anger at him as he visibly shrank back under my gaze.
"Yo, don't you remember me?"
