Chapter 88 - A Millionaire
"Meh. You are not THAT important. Look at me. I actually matter. You, you are just one of seven others. Now, manager. How much money do I have in my account? I trusted Darian with quite a lot, if I am not wrong.", Lucas looked at the manager.
"Darian? You speak to the master on a first name basis?", the manager looked at him with shock.
"Just tell me how much I have in my account.", Lucas asked a third time, clearly irritated.
"I am sorry, sir, but it is against our policy to tell our customer's bank balance out loud. Considering that we are in a place surrounded by numerous who have the ability to listen to our conversations, the bank has decided to refrain from putting our customers in active harm.", the manager said.
"I don't care about your stupid rules. If anyone here can even make me bleed, I will give it to you, that person is pretty strong. If he or she thinks that he can steal money from me? Then that person is pretty delusional.", Lucas laughed.
A lot of the people in the bank glared at him. It was clear that they heard what he said, and were pretty annoyed by his comments.
"If that is what sir wishes to do, then we cannot go against the customer's wishes. Sir, you have a total of 100,239,000 dollars after deducting the million dollars that you have withdrawn. You are a valuable customer, and you are encouraged to deposit more shall you get more money.", the manager said.
"A hundred million, huh. Alright. That will last a while. Okay. Where is the cash?", Lucas asked.
The manager looked shocked at what Lucas said. Any normal person would be elated to have that much money in their bank account, yet Lucas only commented that it would last a while.
"Sir, this duffel bag has all the money that you have withdrawn, minus the commission that we take for cash transactions such as this.", the manager took out a duffel bag out of seemingly nowhere.
"Alright, we are on a time crunch. I clearly got up at the wrong time, because the sky has already gotten so dark.", Lucas sighed.
"Yes sir. We just need your signature here.", the manager produced a piece of paper, with a lot of clauses written on it. Lucas took the paper, and scanned through it.
"Looks good.", he nodded. Instead of taking a pen, he took his index finger, and bit it. A few drops of blood fell onto the paper. The blood looked like it was alive. It started squirming, and it started becoming a thin line. It moved around the paper, and found the signature part of the paper. The blood glowed, and Lucas' name appeared in cursive in red ink.
Lucas reached forward and grabbed the duffel bag. He turned back and left. Angela quickly followed him.
"I never knew that you trained in blood control. It takes quite a while to train and master.", Angela looked surprised.
"Yeah, no shit. It took me ten years just to get my blood to behave alive. And controlling it took another decade. You are lucky, you get an affinity with blood.", Lucas sighed.
"Well, we get what we get. Where to next?", Angela asked.
"To the hotel. And, we are sharing the same room. There are two beds, so don't complain. I will know if someone is trying to sneak a pic, so don't worry about that. No paparazzi even knows you are here.", Lucas said.
"You have a hundred million in your account, but you are so miserly. You are no fun.", Angela pouted.
"Michael has his construction thing. You rake in so much from endorsements. But I don't have a source of income. I need to be careful with my money.", Lucas said as he got onto the car.
"Fine, fine. But you have to make sure that there is no one who is taking a picture. Last thing that I want is to end up on every single tabloid, saying that I have a boyfriend. And of all people, I don't want that to be with you.", Angela said.
"Why? What's wrong with me, huh? Aren't I boyfriend material?", Lucas smiled as Angela also got onto the car.
"You are the exact opposite.", Angela shook her head.
"That is quite hurtful.", Lucas said.
Awkward silence continued, and the car did not help either. It, being so silent, made the silence even worse. Lucas could not handle it anymore, and he turned on the radio.
"I would rather prefer silence.", Angela said as she switched off the radio as well. Lucas looked out the window, through the side mirror.
"Go straight, Don't take this left.", he said, all of a sudden.
"Some one is tailing us?", she asked.
"The same person who was trying to eavesdrop on us in the bank. We should take care of him.", Lucas nodded.
"Some alley?", Angela asked.
"Come on. Let us make things a little interesting. The dude is riding a camaro. I can use one.", Lucas said.
"Again, let me remind you. You are a multimillionaire. You can buy a camaro like, right now.", Angela said.
"But nothing beats the satisfaction of getting free stuff.", Lucas grinned.
"Where do you want me to go?", Angela asked.
"Let us go to Walmart. They have a parking lot big enough to play a game of hide and seek.", Lucas said.
"You want to steal the car from him?", Angela asked.
"I want to crush him, take the keys, and yeah, steal the car from him.", Lucas nodded
"That isn't the same thing as stealing. That is called, how do I put it, forcefully- yeah, it is stealing.", Angela nodded as she took a hard right turn.
