Chapter 83: Brawn + Brain VS Skill + Brain - 1

Chapter 83: Brawn + Brain VS Skill + Brain - 1

'Could he be the otherworldly hero?... The one before him?. The person for whom The Flame Emperor was searching for?... The one who broke the dungeon?'

........

"WHERE ARE YOU RAKA??!!! WHAT DO YOU WANT?!!"

Marcus yelled at the sky, at the sun, because there was nothing else around him to yell to except the ground which was shrouded with grass that grew till his knees.

*PeW*

*Bang*

A bullet zoomed past his eyes as Marcus dodged it easily.

"I am here Marcus...Hahahaahaa"

Raka's voice ricocheted throughout the dimension as he laughed.

'Where?'

His mind kept on repeating the word while his eyes darted left and right and his body to and fro.

"HAHA"

Marcus jumped 5 feet away as Raka's voice boomed beside his ears.

'Bloody bastard. He's putting his deception magic to complete use.'

His thought reacted to what he wanted to say as he saw an Invisible entity flash past him yet again.

*PUNCH*

A fist found Marcus on his right cheekbone and flashed past him again. Even though the punch packed insane power, it was nothing before him as Marcus stood his ground, UNSCATHED.

"Impressive!! Marcus no wonder your friend looks up to you"

Raka's voice once again echoed through the pocket dimension, this time it felt closer.

Raka was getting the high ground in his pocket dimension. The bright and plain pocket dimension Raka had was a perfect match for his skill at deception magic. The type where one was made for each other.

"Tell me Raka. Who are you?"

Marcus asked as he took a defensive stance, his face tensed and eyes narrowed.

Narrowing his eyes might give him less vision but it increased his concentration a hundred folds to what it was before. Talking about vision, it wasn't going to help him anyway in a fight against an invisible entity.

"I am Raka Riles, the descendant of The Flame Emperor, need something else?"

Raka laughed at his own words, for an instance Marcus felt Raka was right behind him.

"BOO"

Another one of Raka's jumpscare boo brushed past his ears.

"Aaaarrr"

Marcus had rotated 180 degrees with a speed that could have snapped tree trunks. He let his punches go wild at the air in front of him.

Nothing, He felt nothing as he fluttered his fists which were loaded with 20% of his total power. He knew it was enough to destroy the man who was against him.

But Marcus didn't want to kill Raka... at least not now. What he lacked was info, info about the man who was fighting against him out of the blue.

'He's playing with me'

His breath was deep when Marcus inhaled. His eyes were shut and his shoulders were pacified. A cool breeze swayed past him, playing with his fallen streaks of burgundy red hair before dying off into the infinity of the pocket dimension.

'Use your brain Marcus... Use your brain'

Marcus stood upright, halting his guard posture before collecting himself. He cleared his thoughts one by one inside his mind, finally making it go blank.

[Passive Skill learned: Master Of Tranquility]

[Passive Skill Perfected: Master Of Tranquility]

[Skill Abbreviated: Master Of Tranquility to MOT]

3 pings echoed inside him as Marcus noticed notification pop-ups in front of his mind space.

His ears opened up to the air around him and he felt his blood rush throughout his arteries and veins like a freight train.

It was almost as if the air was talking to him. He could feel the air transitioning around him and the small gusts it generated. It was crystal clear. The new skill was a perfect match for his air manipulation mastery. He was now one with the air.

The new skill <Master Of Tranquility> had also elevated the insane earshot capacity his Almighty Sense already had, making him omniscient to the realm of sound.

"Talk about the perfect skill at the perfect time"

With this, Marcus was pretty confident that he would be able to deal with the imperceptible being before him whom he has been facing for almost 20 minutes inside the pocket dimension.

Raka's mana capacity was no joke as its efficiency was being proved live before Marcus. The Intrigue factor rose a level again as Marcus realized Raka's identity carried more mystery than he had thought of him.

"What will you do Marcus??... You can't defeat me... Haha"

Raka broke the silence yet again with his piercing laugh.

But Marcus did not heed to his words, instead, he focused on the air and the frequency change which rippled in the background. Marcus used to be quite a genius when it came to studies.

He used to top the class every year from middle school. But the King's son, Gabriel found it annoying. Gabriel used his power to his advantage to frighten the wimpy Marcus and quelled him from being the class topper. Marcus still wondered why Gabriel used to bully him, why he wanted him to suffer for no reason at all.

"The airflow is towards the north, according to the frequency output his voice let out and the time it took to ripple the air around me carries a time delay of at least 2 tongue clicks. Then according to my calculation, he must be..."

Marcus paused his words before jutting out his stronger right hand. His oni mask conjured onto his grip.

"He must be.... 10 METRES TOWARDS THE LEFT"

With a sudden twist of his body, Marcus heaved the mask back before shooting it to his left, his muscles bulged and shook as the mask shot off his hand and to the open land to his left.

"LIGHT... NING BOLT!!!!"

Lightning shrouded the mask as it left his hands. It was the same skill that once annihilated an entire army of God ranked demons.

The mask galloped at an amazing speed of Mach 20 (twenty four thousand six nine six kilometers per hour).

*BANG*

"PTOEEEY"

Raka was torn off his feet when the mask hit him, snatching the air out of his lungs in a single motion. He scored an air time of 7 seconds before plummeting back to the land.

"Finally!!... There you go genius!!"

Marcus released a euphoric sigh of relief as he opened his eyes and spotted Raka sprawling on his fours, twirling in pain.

"I am not a prodigy... It's just that... I know my Maths" (Quote of the century, people)

Marcus patted his forehead, signaling that he still had it in him and hadn't disregarded the computation techniques he had to fry his brain day and night for.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH"

The sprawled Raka laughed maniacally, he covered his eyes with his right hand as he held his aching stomach with his left.

Marcus remained still, his eyes narrowed

"I was just thinking when you'd finish the easy stage man... Seriously it was getting boring"

Raka jumped up with a jolt. He was standing on his legs within a second after Marcus saw him twisting and contorting in agony.

Marcus was pretty sure he hit him, that too with a Mask flying in Mach 20. Then how did he...

"Ahh"

Marcus sighed.

His eyes stared at the broken blue coat which was fastened to Raka. He put two and two together and understood what had happened.

Marcus shot the mask at Raka precisely and did not miss it. Instead, the shot hit the tough coat which acted as a shield and a screen at the same time. The throw destroyed the coat which in turn revealed Raka's true body as the coat could screen or cover its wearer.

"Clever"

Marcus nodded.

"I know right. Round 2?"

Raka smirked.

"Sure"

*GRIN*
