The Extra’s Survival: Logging into the Game Master System!

Chapter 63: [Quest Failed!]

[Adrian's Pov!]

[You have failed the Tutorial Quest 4]

[Hidden Scenario will be opened for you!]

[Hidden Quest: He who bathes in moonlight and blood!

Difficulty: Impossible!

Objective: The Vampire Baron who controls all the lesser Vampires has appeared to take over the city! Your objective is to stop him from reaching the city till the morning comes up!

Time to Survive: 12 Hours!

Rewards: ??? ]

A chuckle escaped my mouth as I observed the same quest at the blue screen. The reward was hidden here but I already knew what it was.

Though the main reason for my smile was this.

[GM Points: 3.1 Million!]

Just a single hour was enough to give me this many points. It was partially because of the fact that I could one shot all the D-Grade vampires and partially because that their number only increased as I went deeper into the forest.

"Well. Let's first increase our fire power. Nothing good will come out of all this if I can't even deal proper damage to that Baron Vampire," I smiled as I didn't hesitate to put 3 Million just to increase the damage from 5 times to 15 times.

The second timer began ticking as the number of monsters suddenly started increasing. While it was a good thing, I couldn't help but feel uneasy.

The entire map was slowly getting coloured in red as a huge horde of monsters began appearing from all the sides. Even with [Rapid Mode!] I doubt I could kill all of them before they surround me completely.

"It's not like I have much of a choice though," I thought as I killed one of the Vampirelings.

[You have killed an E-Grade Monster: Infantile Vampireling!]

And I realized the reason behind their huge number. They were baby monsters unlike the grown ones.

Because of [Accelerated Thinking!] I could more or less formulate the relation between the numbers of monsters and their Grades. Even to the point of their growth nature and patterns.

It was a simple deduction.

These monster types probably produced a huge amount of weak monsters. Like the horde that I am witnessing right now. These weak monsters can't come out in the sun hence they weren't present back when the sunlight was still visible.

Though as soon as the sun went out, they began moving towards the nearest food source. It was their instincts that drove them there.

These weak monsters would probably feed on other beings, preferably humans, and grow into D-Grade monsters, like the one I was killing up until now.

"So that means as the grade of these Vampires increases, there number should also reduce, huh?" I felt a bit sad. I mean, that would mean there were less B-Grade skills and even lesser A-Grade ones.

I could only sigh as I then aimed my gun at those incoming monsters and began rapid firing once again.

Seconds turned to minutes and then an hour passed as I saw my GM points barely reaching 500,000. It was frustrating to see it rise so slowly after I just happen to earn 6 times more in the previous hour.

Another irritating thing was that the [Inventory!] was completely packed now, which made me wonder if I should upgrade it first or make some changes to my weapon such that it allows me to kill the monsters faster?

[Accelerated Learning!]

I used my skill for a second before I found an optimal way to increase my hunting speed.

[-Laser Gun mode: Changes the gun to a Laser with a range of 100 meters, that does 10% of the total damage per second it is used]

[Would you like to make the following changes for 350,000 GM points?]

Pressing [Yes], I then change the gun into a laser gun. It wasn't convenient against normal monsters but for a lower grade monster, I think it's perfect.

Pointing my gun at those monsters around me, I then pressed the trigger. This time, I poured mana at the rate of 3MP per second.

Given my wisdom and all the other added effects, a single MP should give out an attack of 500 against those Vampire lings. So 3 MP should be the sweet spot.

The laser shot out of the gun, reached the vampirelings, turned them into dust and continued until they reached their maximum distance of 100 meters.

"Perfect!"

I slowly rotated the angle as more and more of those vampirelings died. With each passing moment, 100s of those monsters were turning to dust. The never ending barrage of system messages were a delicacy to look at.

Though as soon as I completed 180 degrees and both the guns covered the maximum area they could, the messages thinned out to 5 to 6 at a time.

"Ah! I overdid it," I sighed as I looked at the entire area in a radius of 100 meters around me, plummeting to the ground. It was as if a huge battle had taken place in just this area, which did happen in a way.

Well. Whatever.

[GM Points: 234,125]

Given I already had 150k, I scored about 80k at once, huh? Not bad.

My eyes then once again went to the [Map!]. The number of monsters were ever increasing, with each of them collecting near the city walls, trying to break through its defense.

'I guess my illusion is still working,' I thought as I saw all those monsters passing by me without noticing me at all.

[Inventory!

Grade: D

Effect:

-Allows the user to store any item in a subspace of [50 x 50 x 50] meters!

-Allows the user to store any unowned item as long as it is within a radius of 20 meters from the user!]

[Would you like to make the following changes for 150,000 Points?]

[Yes!]

A basic utility upgrade. Though I wondered if I should continue with this skill or not. Especially because of the limited skill space that I had.

"If I can change it into a subspace type skill with time dilation effects, then maybe it will be worth it?" I gave it a quick thought before putting it to the back of my mind. For now I should focus only on my current objectives.

"Now then. Just where is that Vampire Baron?" I wondered as I tried searching for him in the red sea of monsters on the map.

[Samantha's POV!]

Being a central figure of the group is exhausting. I know I am not the leader but still, being the main damage dealer along with being the strategist of the group does put me in a spot.

'I don't mind it though,' I smiled as I looked at the girls excitedly talking about the Tutorial along with admiring the city view around them.

We were currently walking towards the main castle, just behind the King's caravan. According to what we know, this place is the last standing city of this world.

The entire world outside this city has been taken over by Vampires and our work is to provide a way to prevent the fall of this world. In a way it was an impossible quest since we were talking about saving an entire world but since there was no time limit to it, I think it should be doable if we do it step by step.

[Quest: Protect the City!

Difficulty: Impossible!

Objectively: Protect the city for as long as possible!

Time limit: None!

Rewards: Will be based on the time the city survives!]

An odd quest without any proper direction.

"Mark! Alice! Have you met with Adrian yet?" I heard Julia's voice as she asked about her crush.

'This love struck fool,' I sighed as I looked at her walking towards the duo. Alex was also with them, just that he was more interested in talking with the NPC guard in front of them. Perhaps he was trying to get some information?

Smart.

"Not yet. I didn't see him at the entrance either," Alice answered, making Julia sigh in dejection. Mark too didn't seem happy right now.

Now that I think about it, Mark used to be a lot more cheerful than before. I wonder what happened to him?

"Hey Mark," I called him before waving at him.

Turning to me, he smiled a little before he waved back,"hey."

Moving closer to him, I asked," what happened? You don't look so good? Everything is okay, right?"

"Yeah," he answered, getting a bit more sad before he continued," I am good. What about you?"

"I am fine. Just a bit worried about everything that is going on. Despite trying to adapt to this… whole new situation… I still can't believe that all our previous lives are gone. I miss mom and dad," I spoke as the buried emotion began resurfacing again.

I did try to search for them in the tutorial but I guess they didn't make it here. Perhaps they were transferred to somewhere else?

"Though they are going to be fine, you know? They are much smarter than I am. Haha," I laughed out a little, trying to lighten the situation. But deep inside I was worried. They are fine right?

"Yup. Based on how active they were in this year's sports day, I am more worried about the monsters," Mark spoke with genuine concern as he observed my face.

"Pfft~ Hahahaha!" And relaxing out, I laughed at his expression before I spoke,

"You idiot," as I wiped my tears.

"What?" He was still confused but I just shook my head with a smile.

"Nothing," I answered before I continued walking beside this idiot. Talking more about genuine things, and a bit more about idiotic things.
