The Glamorous Comeback of the Ousted Heiress

Chapter 254: 096 Backter Street, a new king is born!_1

Qinglong Bar was renowned far and wide.

Inside, a mix of all kinds of characters frequented the place, and no one dared to cause trouble because the bodyguards and security weren’t ordinary people—the last individual who did stir up trouble has become untraceable now.

The bar was crowded, yet few had seen its high-level personnel.

Rumors had it that it was backed by the Dawson Family.

Today was the first time anyone had seen someone from the bar’s internal staff.

The gaze of those around instinctively fixed on this gentle young man, with his straight jet-black hair, simple white jacket, looking so pure and fine that he did not seem to belong in a bar.

Sister?

Who was he calling?

Chief Chen and Chen Jingyu were also looking around, curious about who this “sister” could be.

As they watched, the quiet and seemingly shy youth stopped in front of them, “Sister, what are you doing here?”

He called out once again.

It was with this call that Chief Chen and Chen Jingyu realized that women who dared to walk around Backter Street were scarce, and the few who did were very capable, with knives clearly strapped to their knees.

And on their side

Chief Chen and Chen Jingyu instinctively looked towards Bai Lian; she was the only girl around.

Bai Lian hadn’t removed her earphones yet. She casually crossed out a word, then looked up at Xiaoqi, “Here to watch the match.”

With that, Xiaoqi understood.

She was here to see Mao Kun’s fight.

Behind him, the silver off-road vehicle paused for a moment and then continued to move forward.

Xiaoqi’s appearance was deceiving. He had delicate features, especially those pitch-black eyes; on closer inspection, you could find the same serene demeanor he shared with Bai Lian from certain angles.

Chief Chen came back to his senses and greeted Xiaoqi, “You are…”

“I’m also from Purest Street Orphanage,” Xiaoqi looked at Chief Chen politely, “working at Qinglong Bar.”

A jack of all trades, and sometimes even a freelance designer.

Chief Chen comprehended it now.

No wonder he knew Bai Lian, and they seemed quite close; he straightforwardly called Bai Lian “sister.” Even Jiang He never called her sister directly.

He took out his phone and immediately added Xiaoqi on WeChat.

Xiaoqi didn’t refuse, “Xiaoqi, my name is Mao Xiaoqi.”

By Chief Chen’s side, Chen Jingyu watched the car drive away and, after hearing “works at Qinglong Bar orphanage,” gave Xiaoqi an odd look but paid him no further attention.

As for adding as a friend, that was even less likely.

Xiaoqi had gotten out of the car instinctively to greet Bai Lian, thinking she was here for something. Seeing she was headed to the fight club, he did not disturb her any further.

The main street of Backter Street was a mile long with various hotel services; the fight club wasn’t located on the main street. In front of the giant lion statue, a three-meter-wide and dozens of meters long branch road did not allow vehicles to enter.

Both sides were flanked by five-meter-high stone walls, creating an oppressive feeling.

Walking through the passage, a huge dome-shaped structure came into view.

Outside the open doors, there were two two-meter-high promotional figures.

On the left was a bald black man with his upper body bare, muscles bulging, a tan and green leopard tattooed across his chest, and his name written next to him—

Black Panther!

To the right was a masked blond man, only half his chin visible. He wore a white tank top, in an attacking stance, his eyes like a raptor closely watching its prey, chilling to behold; his name was also displayed

White Tank Top…

Mao Kun’s demeanor changed after putting on the mask; she knew he was meant for martial arts.

But

Bai Lian raised her head to look at the three words “White Tank Top.”

Voices occasionally called out “Mr. White” from nearby.

Silence.

Silence was what Bai Lian embodied at that moment.

The inside of the fight club was spacious, octagonal in shape, with the arena in the middle surrounded by railings, and seating spreading out layer by layer from the center to the periphery. Cameras were set up around for a simultaneous live broadcast.

A large screen in the middle prevented those seated further back from missing any detail.

Bai Lian’s seat was in the first row of Zone A, the same area as Chief Chen.

Chen Jingyu, however, had managed to get a second-row seat in D Zone, very far from them.

When Jiang Fulai and Ming Dongheng arrived, the fight was about to start, and most of the seats were already filled.

With a seat left empty to Bai Lian’s right, Ming Dongheng arrived to find Chief Chen sitting to her left. He gave Chief Chen a cool glance before quietly sitting next to him.

As soon as Jiang Fulai arrived, the tension in Chief Chen visibly eased significantly.

Today, Bai Lian wore black wide-leg pants, with light grey fabric stitched on both sides, embroidered with several white cats, and a slightly tight black long-sleeve on top, also adorned with a white lazy cat sprawling across the chest.
