Chapter 235: Killing Intent Is Funny

Chapter 235: Killing Intent Is Funny

'How did I end up in such a situation.' Luke thought as he followed a group of guards, one of whom pushed Aurora's unconscious body on a hospital stretcher. By the looks of it,  they were going through the Oni gate, meaning they were now going to be entering the main living grounds of the Cirillo family. While this was exactly what he wished and wanted to avoid, Luke was rather excited he would be facing off against that monstrous-like pressure.

It wasn't intoxicating in the sense that he couldn't breathe, but it was just stupidly strong for a being, more than that, Luke was confused as to why Hector didn't keep his killing intent or fighting pressure in check.

It wasn't threatening for someone of his caliber or level, but it was slightly infuriating to someone show off so much when he could do the same. In fact, Luke's killing intent was quite literally supernatural, it was physically intoxicating to a lot of people, and the dark aura that he apparently radiated was only making things better for him.

The training equipment stacked the grounds all around him, some of them were broken, some remained cracked, whilst the majority of them were untouched. The architecture was neat and simple, apparently, it was only the bright red entrance door that was weirdly flashy.

'Who even stays here.' He thought but refused to ask out loud.

"The masters and their children stay here, along with any guests they value or hold dear to them. What you're witnessing and will continue to do so is the pinnacle of martial arts training. I'm sure as an instructor you can appreciate the facilities that are scattered all around you," one of the guards spoke, not realizing the timing and how coincidental it seemed.

"I'm sure," Luke agreed but hid the sarcastic tone, but the truth was that the place was truly fabulous. There were multiple gyms and grounds where people stood still and practiced one single strike a thousand times.

Of course for someone like Luke, doing the same strike a few hundred times would be more than enough for him to master it, JC or Jace Cirillo himself could vouch for this fact, after all, he was there when Luke showed off his ability to learn and gain control over skills that are displayed to him.

It didn't work that simply, naturally, it was complicated and not calm or easy as seeing and doing. If that was the case, then his character in the game would be easily able to learn every skill. Of course, he did show his comprehension abilities in-game as well, which was one of the biggest reasons he made it to the point he did.

After walking for a bit and exploring quite a lot of the main household that seemed to be filled with nothing but kitchens and training areas, Luke finally arrived at a huge room that had a different vibe attached to it. It was dark and there were many figurines or statues all around the room, and right in front of him was another red door, similar to the oni one, except this one was simply red and green in color with no special design on it.

"Wait here please," one of the guards spoke up before taking away Aurora to the side while all the others but one entered the room ahead. Luke could feel the mental strain and the pressure that was being emitted, it wasn't only him. Some of the guards began sweating profusely, to the point where they would constantly use a napkin to fix the issue.

'This is a joke? Why am I even playing along.' Luke thought to himself as he waited calmly, if he was being honest, he just really wanted to see Aurora fine and responsive, which she will be soon, but he still wanted to witness it with his two own eyes.

About 5 minutes later, the door opened once again, and the guards who went in came out with a pale and suffocated expression, it was as if they were choked to the point where they could no longer breathe. Of course, there wasn't a single mark on any one of them, but Luke could easily guess what the cause was.

"Ggg-oo inside!!" one of them gestured while shivering and calming himself down. This entire situation had only been weird for him, everything from the beginning to the end, why was he even there? As a matter of fact, why couldn't he have simply explained to the guards? Why was he now going to face the Cirillo family?

As soon as he entered, he noticed Jace first sitting right next to a huge man and an elegant woman. There were three chairs on the main raised chairs, and on both sides of the room were two boys each. Unfortunately, Nate was right. Luke's sense of danger and social awareness wasn't the best. The very first thing he said as soon as he entered the room was more than enough to get him slaughtered.

"Old man!!" Luke waved at Jace not realizing what was going to happen. Jace was like a role model to all the four boys in the room. One of them randomly shivered every two seconds or so, naturally, this boy was Ajax who was recalling the scenes that took place in the tournament.

The very next second three figures closed in on him, all with a threatening aura, ready to cut off his head. What was different was that this time all of them had weapons in their hands, one had a short sword, while the other had a dagger and finally, the last one had a sword. A single step to the left or right or in any direction and Luke's neck would begin bleeding.

"Does this have to happen every time?" Luke eyed Ajax who was still on one side, he was the only one that didn't even move from his place, there was no way he was going to do something like that, not after experiencing that nightmare.

"...." He gulped and looked down, not caring about what his parents would think. Looking at his response, Luke simply smiled and hit the hilt of the dagger, it was a smaller weapon, meaning once it was out of the way, he could fully move in that direction, and that was exactly what he did, the second he was out of his position he simply strutted his way to Jace who looked at everything with a smile on his face.

Every step Luke took he could feel the pressure only increase, but it was weird. It was something that didn't come from the man sitting in the middle, it was coming from the woman sitting right next to him. Andromeda Cirillo, Aurora's mother, there was no doubt she was strong-minded and practically kept the entire Cirillo family from dying multiple times, but to think her pressure was this strong was something he hadn't expected at all.

"I see.." Luke muttered before he took another step forward, he was acknowledging the fact that the killing intent that was floating around was coming from the woman and not the giant of a man seated.

"I would show you mine, but that might kill you," Hector smiled as he leaned onto his fist that rested on the armrest. His children looked confused as to what happened, they were debating whether or not to attack Luke once again.

"Assuming you aren't dead before you get a chance," Luke smiled back in response. He could feel it, his blood boiling, it was finally happening, his one chance at facing off against an enemy that could actually beat him.

"That's perfect. That's exactly how you should be," Andromeda chimed in with a knowing smile, she was happy that Luke's mentality wasn't weak.

Luke simply nodded in response to the compliment and turned back to Hector, "Does now seem like a good time?"

"Now? But I'm sitting on my throne," Hector replied with a straight face, there wasn't a hint of sarcasm or anything.

"Then I'll get you off it?"

This time it was the others. They could no longer ignore Luke's existence and at some point, they had to make a choice to either attack him or stand down. The oldest of the siblings shot out first and nearly stabbed Luke right in the back, however, just before the tip touched his skin, Luke sidestepped and held him by the back of his neck. He grabbed his sword hand and twisted it while holding his neck.

Luke then pushed his face forward and right into Hector, hoping that would annoy him enough to fight him. The other two who were just about to shoot forward suddenly lost all the feelings they had in their legs. They looked at each other and at Ajax before nodding and standing their ground.

"Wise choice," Luke smiled as he strengthened his grip around Ajax's brother. It was at this point that Hector finally decided to act.. He raised his finger and spoke in a loud and commanding tone, "that's enough. You come to my house and this is how you behave? Stand down and I'll overlook it,"
