Chapter 92 Threatening The General
"Stop!"
The voice was deep and commanding, and it seemed to reverberate through the very ground beneath their feet. Even Wang Jian's comrades, who had been brimming with confidence just moments before, felt a chill run down their spines.
As the voice echoed through the area, everyone present knew what it meant. The individual who spoke was a King Realm cultivator.
Wang Jian arched his eyebrow as he turned his gaze in the direction of that voice. He glimpsed a well-built middle-aged man, garbed in the same armor as the Crimson Guards.
The members of Guan Yin's team couldn't help but cry out in joy and relief, "It's the General! He's arrived to save us from this dire situation!"
"We are safe now!" added Major Guan Yin.
"You bunch of troublemakers have some nerve targeting members of my faction!" The General of the Crimson Guards spoke coldly.
Wang Jian's comrades were absolutely terrified as they realized the identity of this man.
Meanwhile, Wang Jian realized that this General was a helper who came to assist the Heroine out of this predicament.
Without hesitation, Wang Jian stepped forward and addressed the General directly. "Stop, General. I will take responsibility for their actions and take them away," he said firmly.
The sudden appearance of Wang Jian stunned everyone present, and for a moment, the air was thick with tension and uncertainty.
The General scoffed. "Take them away? Do you think you can just waltz in here and demand that I release your troublemaking friends? They have caused a great deal of chaos and destruction, and they must pay the price."
Wang Jian's expression remained calm, but there was a hint of steel in his eyes. "I am the seventh prince of this kingdom. I demand that you release them into my custody."
The General's lips curled in disdain. "Seventh prince or not, they are criminals who have disrupted the peace and caused damage to our city. They will not go unpunished."
Wang Jian's jaw clenched, but he remained resolute. "If you do not release them, then you leave me no choice but to use force."
The General's eyes narrowed, and he took a step forward. "Do you really dare to threaten me, boy?"
Wang Jian met his gaze, unwavering. "Attack if you dare."
The General's hand went to his sword, but he hesitated. This was the capital, and he knew that if it became known that he had attacked a member of the royal family, he would be hanged the next day.
He glared at Wang Jian. "You may have won saved them today, but mark my words, troublemaker. Your friends will pay for their crimes, and there is nothing you can do to stop it."
"Whatever. Go away," Wang Jian swatted his warnings nonchalantly.
As the Crimson Guards departed, Wang Jian's friends let out a collective sigh of relief. They rushed towards him, patting him on the back and thanking him profusely.
"Wang Jian, you're a lifesaver! We owe you one," Luo Yin said, grinning from ear to ear.
"Yeah, you really bailed us out of a tight spot," Xie Zhiwei added, his voice filled with gratitude.
Wang Jian waved his hand dismissively. "It's no big deal. I couldn't just stand by and let you guys get hurt."
Liu Yu couldn't help but express his disappointment. "What a shame. If that General hadn't appeared, we could have taken Major Guan Yin away. She has such a tantalizing figure," he said with a hint of regret in his voice.
Li Wei chimed in, "Indeed. It was the perfect opportunity, but now it seems we'll never get our revenge on her."
Tang Xiaohui, always the optimist, spoke up. "Don't worry, guys. Our plan was a good one. We just have to be more careful next time."
Wang Jian was impressed with his friends' resilience. They had just narrowly escaped a life-threatening situation, and yet they were already thinking of their next move. "You guys are something else," he said, a small smile playing on his lips.
"But Wang Jian, what about you?" Liu Yu asked, turning to him. "You risked everything to save us. What if that General had attacked you?"
Wang Jian shrugged off the question. "I'm the seventh prince. He wouldn't dare lay a hand on me, especially not here in the capital. He knows the consequences of attacking a royal."
His friends nodded in agreement, but the thought still lingered in their minds. The Crimson Guards were a force to be reckoned with, and they couldn't be sure what they were capable of.
Nevertheless, they walked on, heads held high, and minds already working on their next scheme.
Wang Jian turned towards his friends, his expression resolute. "I have some matters to attend to in the Palace. I will meet you all later," he announced, his voice steady and determined.
His friends looked at him in surprise, not expecting him to leave so abruptly. "Is everything alright, Wang Jian?" asked Luo Yin, concern etched on his face.
"Yeah. Everything is alright. It's just a small task," Wang Jian spoke.
As he strode towards the Palace, Wang Jian couldn't help but think about the events of the day.
He had to find more information regarding this Guan Yin and who was the protagonist related to her.
Upon his return, he summoned his trusted subordinates and delegated tasks to them, instructing them to gather all the necessary information on Guan Yin and her associates.
The next morning, his subordinates arrived with a comprehensive report on Guan Yin and her connections.
Wang Jian was impressed with their efficiency and thoroughness. They had found out everything he needed to know, including her residence in Aria City, and her close connections.
As Wang Jian perused through the information on Guan Yin, he found no mention of anyone that fits the description of the protagonist he was searching for. He pondered the situation thoughtfully.
"It's possible that the protagonist hasn't awakened yet," he mused.
But he also knew he couldn't wait around for that to happen. He needed to take action.
"I can become the villain for her," he decided with a sly grin.
He began to hatch a plan, muttering to himself, "Let's contact her parents and give them some exciting news."
With a newfound determination, Wang Jian set to work on implementing his scheme.
