Voyage With The Pirate King

Looking at that innocent childlike appearance, Ji Yao lowered his sword and picked up the painting Xiaoyu pointed at. He removed the white cloth revealing a gorgeous painting of Xiaoyu dressed in a white silk dress embroidered with pink peony flowers.

This had been the dress he chose for this portrait. He especially liked it because of the delicate cloth buttons and high collar. It complemented the purity in her emerald coloured eyes. He wanted to capture this moment and freeze it in time before the world corrupted her innocence. 

He held up the canvas as he studied it. "What do you want with it?" he asked before raising his head to look at her. He saw the hesitant look in her eyes but didn't rush her. She obviously had an answer but it seemed the words were difficult to say.

Biting her bottom lip she shyly lowered her head and murmured, "Since Yao-ge doesn't like me anymore I wa-wanted to take it back. Other, otherwise your new boyfriend might get jealous when he sees it."

Ji Yao acquiesced as he closed the painting with a cloth before handing it over to her. He had never thought about it before but now that she had mentioned it his little cub would definitely get jealous.

Xiaoyu didn't expect Ji Yao to agree just like that. She thought he would coax her and maybe tell her she was overreacting but who would have thought he would agree easily. Her position in his heart was far below that of Rui Fei.

"Take it with you and do whatever you please with it," he said still waiting for her to take it away. Xiaoyu hesitantly reached out as though she knew that after taking this painting away all hopes to be with him would be squashed.

Making the last-ditch effort to advertise herself as the perfect match she purposefully brushed her fingers against Ji Yao's.

Ji Yao subconsciously reacted taking his hand away immediately like he had been set alight but he then realised that his body didn't react as negatively as before.

He was especially sensitive that a mere touch could have him feeling sick. But now..... Thinking it was an illusion he let it go but how could Xiaoyu give in that easy. Placing her hand over Ji Yao's she said,

"Gege, I know your secret. I know your mother's clan can't touch anyone unless they are of blood relation or there is high compatibility. It's okay, I understand you are with Rui Fei because you are desperate but what if you can touch me too? Would you leave him for me?"

As she said this she gently rubbed Ji Yao's hand with her thumb. She took advantage of Ji Yao's momentary shock continuing to convince him.

"I am far much better than Rui Fei. Not only can I have children, but I can also take care of you in a way he never can. I will listen to everything you say and won't cause trouble. Your mother and father will also approve of me,"

"Your mother and Rui Fei's Huishe clan have hated each other for so many generations. Your parents more especially your mother wouldn't agree with this union. Your father will refuse your relationship because he is a boy. Let's not even mention Rui Fei's side of the family. If they ever reunite with Rui Fei they won't agree to you two being together,"

"With all that said don't you think we are far better suited to be together? Why not give us a chance, huh?.... Let's give it a go and you will see if you like me... please. Even a kiss, just one kiss. I promise you won't hate it. My lips are much softer than his."

She moved closer and closer her intentions clear. She wanted to kiss Ji Yao but he was more alert than ever. He pushed her away rejecting her. Yes, Rui Fei was the only other person he could touch but he wasn't interested in him because of that though this ability increased Rui Fei's odds.

His curiosity towards Rui Fei started because of this but even then Ji Yao tried to keep his distance. He didn't want to take advantage of Rui Fei because of this but Rui Fei wouldn't leave him alone.

Thanks to his father's nonstop meddling he was stuck with Rui Fei. Maybe it was because of the ceaseless pestering or Rui Fei's handsome face that he accidentally fell in love with this cub.

Yes, he enjoyed touching him and being touched by him but that wasn't the reason he was in a relationship with him. This cub had wormed his way into his heart taking firm hold of it. Even if he couldn't touch him Ji Yao would never fall for anyone else.

"Xiaoyu, I highly suggest you accept the way things are. Whether I like him because he is the only one I can touch is none of your business now stay out of it," he said but Xiaoyu wasn't resigned.

She grabbed his hand and placed it on her breast before saying, "It's because you have never touched a woman before. I guarantee you that I taste so much better than he does. Gege, just give it a try."

Ji Yao's face that had been feigning a polite expression turned ugly in a split second. He pushed Xiaoyu away and was about to seriously reprimand her when an unmistakable stabbing sound was heard.

Xiaoyu's body froze her eyes as wide as lightbulbs. A hook-like object pierced through her back exiting through her chest. The pointed tip was covered in blood.

Her expression turned grim as blood gushed out of her mouth her eyes red. She stretched out her shaky hand and called out, "Yao..... ge," before her body jerked with the stinger roughly pulled out of her body. She came tumbling down her body lifeless. A pool of blood formed beneath Ji Yao's feet as he watched her with a flummoxed look on his face.

His face was a sickly shade of pale as he watched in shock. Before he could recover a wet hand touched his cheeks and raised his face. The strong rusty smell of blood assaulted his senses as he obediently lifted his face.

In front of him was Rui Fei wearing a crazed expression with his body covered in blood. Even the trembling hand on Ji Yao's cheek was stained red as well. Ji Yao placed his hand on top of Rui Fei's trying to calm him down as he could sense this huishe cub was unstable.

"Is, is it true.... are you with me because of that?" he asked as though someone was forcing him to speak. It was apparent that he didn't want to know the answer but he also wanted to know.. He wanted to know his position in Ji Yao's heart.
