Chapter 617 Second Round, Start!
Chapter 617 Second Round, Start!
''The veil will stop working completely after its power has depleted.'' Bella said while looking at the two pieces of illusionary veil she held, ''After the power is completely depleted, this world will be completely visible.''
Bella turned to look at the excited-looking demons, ''Our Kings will be able to sense this world from a thousand galaxies away, while the Gods are still oblivious to what happened here. But, we have to leave this world before the veil's power is depleted. If we are here when it happens, we will be caught.''
The demons nodded, asked, ''Then, what should we do with... him?''
They turned their blood-red eyes towards the pale-faced Hephaestus, who looked like the entire world fell apart. He failed at his guard duty, and because of that, everything became meaningless.
''No witnesses!'' Bella said coldly, and she waved her hand. The debris moved out of the way, and demons lunged toward Hephaestus. He didn't even try to resist. Instead, the demons ripped him apart, and soon the god lay dead before the broken doorway.
Bella pocketed the ripped-apart veil pieces, and left the room with the demons following her lead. The incident that happened in this very room would be later known as the Start of the Doomsday.
...
The new morning dawned in Moon City, everyone oblivious to the things happening in the God Realm.
The arena started to get crowded with Inhumans moving in messy lines towards their seats. The Gods, and Goddesses entered their watching rooms.
The biggest conversation topic was the second round, Boss Fights. The Gods, and Goddesses were slightly displeased that such a big decision was made behind their backs. However, after it was said that Shiva was responsible, everyone quieted down.
Then, everyone's attention shifted to the arena. Everyone exclaimed in surprise. A massive mountain appeared from the ground, and completely covered the arena. The large screens showed dimly-lit caverns, and tunnels.
The next stage was Mountain Arena. The boss fights would happen in three different cavern systems. To get there, they would have to walk across a dimly-lit tunnel.
Then, everyone saw that players started appearing in the starting area. The three teams were soon assembled, and the door to the dimly-lit tunnel was still shut.
Within the first team, whose duty was to fight against Isaac. The atmosphere was rather solemn. They knew that they had small chances of winning head-on. Thus, they had to think of a plan.
While Lady Noelle, PrincessHeart, Darth, and Queen Cecilia gathered to discuss the plan, Sorcerer sat alone in the dark corner. His dark eyes were fixated on the door.
The other 10 players stood on the sidelines. They were powerhouses in their own right, and managed to enter the second round on their strength alone. They gathered around their own groups, and thought about plans.
Within the second team, Xerxus stretched his legs, while Tyrion bit his lip anxiously. He still remembered Kalzer's overwhelming strength. King Michael, and King Jonathan looked at each other with squinted eyes. They were almost drawing their swords. However, they knew better than anyone that they needed to work as a team to defeat the monster called Kalzer.
Within the third team, the atmosphere was extremely cold. It was like an ancient beast was hiding behind that door, waiting to rip them apart. Alice, and Queen Diana, sitting together while discussing Underlord. They both looked nervous, especially Alice.
Lord Amour held his crimson-colored axe, a golden shine reflecting off his eyes. He was feeling stronger than ever before, maybe even stronger than during his fight against King Arawn.
King Klaus cleaned his long sniper rifle, while only thinking about his bad luck. He wanted to be on the first team, and fight against Wraith. However, unfortunately, he ended up in the wrong group.
Then, there was Zachary. His grin grew as he looked around him. His first match was one of the least watched, because his opponent was one of the weakest, and in everyone's opinion, Zachary wasn't anything special.
'What a brilliant place this is... Moon City, whole day is basically nighttime.' Zachary exhaled with a euphoric expression.
Creak... then, the door slowly opened. The same thing happened in each waiting room. The players saw a dimly-lit tunnel, a kilometer long. It went straight to the boss room, where their opponent waited.
They took a leap of faith, and entered the dark tunnel. The door closed behind them with a bam, and the lanterns mounted on the walls lit up. The tunnel wasn't any longer dim, but bright, and they could already see the end of the tunnel far away.
In the first boss room, Isaac leaned against the high-end backrest while thinking about his meeting with Shiva. He was told that he didn't have to fight as a handicap anymore. However, he wanted to, for experience.
In the second boss room, Kalzer held the gungnir in one hand, and a sphere of light in the other. After the echo of the door opening rang from the tunnel, he made the sphere of light disappear, and sat confidently on his throne.
In the third boss room, Underlord's Dopplegänger turned his murky eyes towards the tunnel. His lips curled into a disgusting smile.
The three teams started running with their weapons drawn. As the end of the tunnel neared, the atmosphere turned heavy, and they all felt like a hidden beast was waiting at the end. Then, with one final burst, they ran out of the tunnel, and arrived in the separate cavern-like room.
In the middle was a dark throne, with a figure sitting on top.
Isaac spun the bo-staff in his hand, and looked down at his opponents.
In the second boss room, everyone gulped, and felt like the entire world was crushing on top of them. Kalzer crossed his leg over his left, and rested the spear against his shoulder. He looked like a mighty king.
'What monster!' Xerxus smiled with sweatdrops trailing down his face.
In the third room, everyone felt like they had entered a freezer. When they saw the ''Underlord'', they surrounded the throne with nervous expression.
Alice held her priestess cane, and looked straight at the Doppelgänger. However, then she saw his gaze turning to her. The gaze was full of murderous intent.
Alice's eyes widened in fear. She felt like a small kitten, standing before prehistoric beast.
