Chapter 45
45 Mirror space
Layton was in a wheelchair and was being pushed by may towards the centre of the city, looking around at the busy citizens who were unaware that the next few minutes would decide the fate of their world and their existence Layton couldn’t help but sigh.
Today was the day the worlds will be fully and permanently connected, it was also the day to decide whether would succeed or fail, the monk might not care about the lives of all the citizens around but Layton still cared, if he was not sealed he would have been able to use the crumbling veil to create a battlefield that would reduce the effect of their battle on the city and its innocent residents, but now the arduous task was left to zero alone.
Zero appeared next to Layton wrapped in her cloak of energy ignored by everyone except him, Layton asked upon being aware of her presence “how is everything”
“everything is in place, but are you sure the plane will make use of it.”
“I am sure” Layton replied with a confident glint in his dark eyes.
“Although I cannot influence the will of the plane now I already know how it thinks, it won’t object as long as it is beneficial to it.” Layton further explained to the silent zero, zero just nodded and merged back into the void disappearing from everyone’s perception.
As they got closer suddenly the whole world seemed to become silent and stopped moving, “its time” Layton said leisurely.
May who had also felt the mysterious feeling and heard Layton’s words also smiled and her eyes twinkled, the look on her wrinkled face was not nice or peaceful instead it was one with raging fighting intent, with a sigh she left the wheelchair and lifted the restrictions she placed on herself, her bent short stature suddenly straightened, the wrinkles on her face and folds on her skin disappeared instantaneously revealing white milk like smooth skin her grey hair turned jet black and started growing rapidly, the winter coat she habitually wore was already thrown away revealing her supple fit figure that was wearing a fit blue bodysuit, her long hair was kept in place by frozen water beads forming a long braid that reached her ample and shapely buttocks.
Layton was the only audience to appreciate this scene everyone else that was present on the street a moment ago was already fading away, leaving the whole city empty except for the parties who were involved in the battle.
.....
Their preparations had succeeded, zero had laid down a rudimentary form of an array that could create a mirror space, the plane will had made use of the array to create a mirror space that would attract all foreigners into it, the only reason May was taken in was because she was an avatar no matter how incomplete she was, Raiden and Zahir were only able to be brought inside because of zero she had coated them with her mystery.
They had done this to reduce the number of people the monk could bring into the battle, only Damon and his kin would be able to come in with the monk.
May and Layton looked upward they noticed the monk was already floating in the sky above the city centre, Raiden and Zahir were still headed towards the centre through another path running in the silent city.
“*sigh*I expected you to do some tricks but I never expected you would have a clone outside that could still function with the seal in operation, it’s a good thing I still have this.”
The monk’s low raspy voice echoed throughout the city, Zahir watched with complicated emotion as the monk, no his uncle Taro took out a weird red ball of meat from his sleeves, the meatball had a shining blue crystal inlaid in it, taro threw the meatball downward, the crystal inlaid in it gleamed and from it appeared four figures, it was Damon’s four grandmaster level kin members, zero who had been hidden appeared again and coming with her was a masked figure with double moon scimitars on his back, it was the current leader of the red lotus the first person of the organization zero had met and the only other non-bending practitioner to reach grandmaster level, he had practised the martial arts circulated to a deep level and so zero was able to manipulate him like a puppet for a short time.
Zero stared at the four figures next to the expanding meatball on the ground and with a sigh she detonated the rest of the mystery in her body enlarging the flaws in the mirror space making the mirror space to erupt in chaos and randomly sending everyone present to different parts of the city, the drained and severely weakened zero was also included in the scope, before she was sent she faded into the body of the double scimitar figure, planning to continue the battle through his body.
The only person exempt from the spatial chaos was Taro and that was because he was floating above the range, he was aware when zero emerged, but he didn’t expect zero to be able to influence the mirror space created by the plane will, he couldn’t intervene in the spatial chaos because his actions wouldn’t be able to save anyone or make it stop but instead increase and could quite possibly kill everyone present including him, despite being separated from everyone else he wasn’t worried he could already sense Layton had already locked him and was heading back here at supersonic speeds, the monk just there cross-legged in the air meditating awaiting the emergence of his opponent.
