Chapter 69
69 Eviction
“How” Simon spat out from his bloody lips, although his facial expression did not change one could see he was in extreme pain and he pierced his weapon into the ground and leaned on it for rest.
“Although I don’t know what you are practising but I can safely infer you need absolute calm,” Layton calmly stated, Simon stared at him with a cold gaze apparently not satisfied with the statement.
When the spear pierced Layton ribs earlier that particular section that was cut off was filled with the impurities of the divine energy in the domain after all due to his low level it was not possible to thoroughly burn the negative information in a domain littered with divinity without leaving behind some impurities, it was those impurities that travelled through the air that destroyed Simon’s fragile balance.
Layton had noticed the peculiarity of Simon since the beginning it was taken for granted that a person who exuded such fiery fighting intent and such a bloodthirsty domain should not be emotionless during fighting, taking note of the abnormality during their battle Layton noticed the ease with which the knight controlled his body and was able to instinctively force his body to make the correct combat decision in a split second.
“In fact to be honest your battle is like an art normally it would just be a matter of time before you won but my perception is a little bit special.”
Layton’s colour haki had improved and coupled with his natural high intuition he could occasionally see a phantom of the possible future during battle.
It was with this skill that Layton had been able to set up the trap to finish the game.
“What do you want” Noticing the berserker did not seem to be in a hurry to send him out of the game Simon knew he wanted something and sure enough the reply he got confirmed his speculation
“I want what you practice.” Layton did not exactly point out what exactly which one he wanted but they were both smart people at least in this calm state Simon was smart enough and so he knew exactly what had caught his opponent’s eye.
.....
“Don’t rush to say no, I have calculated it based on your actions last night and your present state, you are trying to prepare for a breakthrough one which needs pressure to preserve the fragile balance I just broke, and I can help you complete the last piece of the puzzle. ”
Seeing the knight was still silent trying hopelessly to try and regain his fragile balance, Layton knew he would not be persuaded until he showed him some proof fully urging the haki in his body Layton showed Simon the Magia Erebia spell effect, he knew the deficiencies of this spell would be the advantage for Simon, one major reason why Layton doesn’t use the spell frequently is because he found out if he burned too much of his negative information, he would start slowly burning his normal emotions and soon he would be emotionless in his normal state, but this state was exactly what Simon desired, by burning most of his divinity that had the characteristics of bloodlust and surging fighting intent he could be sufficiently calm enough to complete his practice and breakthrough.
As for Layton the reason he wanted the extraordinary soldier practice was to perfect his rune and make up for his defect in his soul defence his instincts were telling him that this practice was his chance, after all, although he had emperor haki it was still essentially an attack type skill and didn’t provide a solid defence for his soul.
“What do you think, I give you this spell you give me your practice fair deal right?” Layton inquired after putting away his armed haki. Simon stared for a while thinking about the effects and benefits of such a spell for his practice before finally replying.
“I accept, but after I am eliminated she can’t be harmed.”
“Oh didn’t picture you as a romantic.” Layton joked, Simon didn’t need to state who he was talking about they both knew the only woman whom Layton might want to kill was Rose.
“Alright, deal,” Layton said agreeing to Simon’s condition after all although she had attacked Lilith she hadn’t really caused her any harm plus if all goes well she would not even be qualified to stand near Lilith in the future.
After accepting Layton walked towards Simon and place his palm on the knight’s forehead, urging his rune he cast the spell on the knight and imprinted some superficial information about it in the knight’s mind, in seconds Simon felt the huge increase in energy and his turbulent emotion linked to his emotions rapidly igniting, directing his ignited to his extraordinary soldier practice Simon found it was effective, looking at Layton who was still waiting the knight sighed and imprinted the practice information of the extraordinary soldier into a strand of energy and sending it to Layton.
Feeling the information in his mind Layton couldn’t help but breathe out in relief, apart from finding a defence for his mind he also needed to complete the total upgrade and fit of his rune, his rune was basically manifested in 3 parts the armed, colour and emperor haki, the armed haki had been combined with Layton researched Magia Erebia spell, his colour haki had been combined with his natural intuition, it was only his emperor Haki that didn’t have any fit attached to it, and Layton wanted all 3 parts to be in balance before he started looking for a second rune to breakthrough.
Removing his mind from the information Layton stared at Simon who had already gone to meet Rose who was hiding a few meters away, after a few minutes apparently done with his farewell Simon limped back to Layton, although he was full of energy due to the Magia Erebia spell but he was still badly injured, the destruction of his previous balance had seriously hurt him and left a series of dark wounds, Simon was defeated and he knew it, there was no point struggling. Giving Simon a nod to signify respect Layton stretched his finger covering it with haki and then pierced Simon skull smoothly sending him out of the game.
