Chapter 133: Who Is She?
Chapter 133: Who Is She?
"Let's fight, let's fight!" The little girl was excited. She had even already positioned her right arm on the table and was signaling to the other party to hurry up and place his arm as well on the table so that they could begin the match already.
"This..." Kyle shifted his gaze to Jan and sure enough, he saw the other party frowning.
"Kid, pay up first!" Jan beckoned impatiently.
"What?! There's a payment here?!" The little girl jumped up in astonishment. This was definitely a scam! Nonetheless, she still asked after taking a bite to the chicken drumstick she held on her left hand, "How much?!"
Jan paused for a moment unsure if he should take his time to answer this bumpkin. Nonetheless, he still answered hoping to scare her away, "10,000 gold coins. Hurry up and pay up!"
"What?! 10,000 gold coins?!" The little girl almost choked to death upon hearing the price. "I don't have that kind of money right now..."
Jan's veins popped out from his head trying to maintain his cool. If the other party wasn't a little kid, he might already kick her out just like what he had done to the man from before who was called, Bear Hunter.
"If you don't have any money, hurry up and get outta here!" Jan shooed her away as he swept his gaze to the crowds and said warmly and lively, "Anyone else who wanted a duel with this little boy here?!"
"Wait! Wait! Wait!" The little girl cried out worriedly. "Can I use any other payment method?"
"Sure thing." Jan responded impatiently as he added, "Just pay anything you have of a similar value of 10,000 gold coins!"
Jan then continued looking for the victims among the crowd.
"Similar value?" The little girl frowned. She took a bite on the chicken drumstick she held leaving only the bone before she threw it away. After which, she took her pouch and tried to see if there was anything of value.
With a hopeless expression, she picked up a green stone from the pouch. It shone so brightly during the day that even the rainbow-colored stone, the Bahaghari carried by Jan, lost its shine.
"Is this enough?!" The little girl asked Jan hoping that this thing she picked some time ago after killing the many stone golems and two stone statues in the Rocky Plains, would be enough.
"Emerald Energy Stone!" Everyone around cried out upon seeing it! Some of them had their eyes almost jumped out from their sockets. Even Jan and Kyle were no exception. Their shock was not too exaggerated though.
"Who are you, kid?!" Jan asked. Only this time did he put a value to this little girl before him. Seeing her behavior, this kid must not have stolen this Emerald Energy Stone. And seeing how little she put a value to this treasure to actually place it as payment so casually, she must have a frightening background.
It was just that, was she trying to show off?! One must know that Emerald Energy Stone was valuable than Bahaghari. To place it as a payment to acquire Bahaghari? Did she go insane? One must know that if she used that treasure as payment, she still had nothing to gain whether she lose or win. Or perhaps, this kid was pretty rich to the point that she didn't care whether she lose or win? No matter what was the case, Jan knew that this kid must not someone to take lightly with.
But the way she behaved... Jan frowned as he was confused seeing how the other party acted like a country bumpkin. Was she acting? She must be a Goddess of Acting if that was the case.
"Huh?" The little girl furrowed her eyebrows. "Is this thing still not enough?!" She thought that asking her name was the way of the other party to reject her offer.
She then placed the Emerald Energy Stone on the table and tried to see if she could find anything of value in her pouch. But to her dismay, only buckets after buckets of chicken drumsticks were all she found! The little girl frowned. She would definitely not place any of these valuable treasures as a payment!
"I don't have anything more in me right now!" The little girl cried out as she added while picking one of the chicken drumsticks in her pouch. "How about this, I will let you take a bite from this as my payment."
As unwilling as she was, there was nothing else she could do. She then raised the chicken drumstick towards the man as her tears were even streaming down to her cheeks.
"But I must warn you," However, at that moment, the little girl gave a ferocious glare towards Jan as her vibes became so much similar to that of a beast. After a moment, she added coldly, "I will only let you take a single bite. If you take advantage of me and bite twice, mark my words, 'I will kill you!'"
Jan shuddered and began to sweat. At that moment, he actually felt fear. Just who the heck was this kid?!
Pfft...
Hahahaha!
The crowd, however, burst into laughter hearing what the little girl had said. What she said was way too funny for them. But it was not the little girl they were laughing at, but in the way she embarrassed the other party. Yes, she must be here to embarrass this man before them!
Taking out a valuable treasure as payment while acting as if it wasn't valuable at all? Not only that, soon after she took out the Emerald Energy Stone, she casually placed it on the table as she took a chicken drumstick instead as a payment. What even funnier was that she actually only wanted to give the other party a bite of chicken drumstick! Not to mention, she even dared to threaten the other party if he took another bite! This little girl was surely daring. The crowd really wondered what frightening background was backing her.
Oblivious to them all was that this little girl was actually serious in what she said. Never she intended to mock the other party as she really put a greater value to the chicken drumstick she had than a mere Emerald Energy Stone.
On the other hand, as the crowd started to laugh, only then Jan was jolted awake. He wiped away the perspiration from his forehead as only then he had noticed the chicken drumstick pointed at him.
"No, no, the Emerald Energy Stone would do," Jan hurriedly answered with a forceful smile. He could still tell that this kid wasn't joking. He was even frightened for a moment. But would he stoop so low just to take a bite from a mere chicken drumstick?! No way!
"Really?!" Hearing him, the little girl brightened up. She then devoured the chicken drumstick in one go afraid that the other party would change his mind. After throwing away the bone, she then hurriedly positioned her arms on the table as she beckoned, "Let's start, let's start!"
She really wanted to defeat the other party already to have a taste of that food they called Bahaghari!
"This..." Kyle shifted his gaze to Jan as he saw the other party nodding at him. But instead of picking the Emerald Energy Stone, the other party beckoned for the little girl to get it back. It was obvious that his teacher, no, his big brother was trying to get the other party's favor!
But that was not the answer he wanted! Although the little girl in front of him seemed harmless, it had to be known that he had felt the ferocious glare of that little girl in that short moment she threatened his big brother a little while ago. He could tell that this girl was more or less, no ordinary individual!
With that being said, Kyle had no courage to defeat the other party!
"Enough nonsense!" The little girl shooed away Jan who was trying to return the Emerald Energy Stone. She didn't even care about it at all. All she wanted was to eat the Bahaghari already! She could only beckon repeatedly, "Come! Come! Let's start, let's start!"
But as helpless as he was, Kyle could only take a deep breath as he prepared himself to be defeated by the other party. He then positioned his arm as well on the table as he grabbed the little girl's hand.
This time the difference in arms-length was not too long so it could be said that it was a fair match. But could it really be fair on the way it seemed?
However Kyle, on the other hand, was astonished as well when he grabbed the other party's hand. It was way too rough for a little girl or for a little princess of some stronger families! It was as if her hand was full of calluses! Was this girl really came from a strong background? Kyle couldn't make sense of it at all. But he had no time to think much of it since his teacher, no, his big brother had already started his lively count!
"In the count of 3... 2... 1... Go!"
