DEVIANT

Chapter 323

323 Can You Win?

Wam!

The deity slashed forward and a powerful shockwave thatmade even space tremble rolled forward, consuming everything in its path as it moved. Many paled but no one below fled because the figure standing between them and the incoming shockwave was yet to flee!

Bam!

Alex’s eyes yanked open and black sparks exploded from them. He threw a hand forward and his black flames surged forward like eternal darkness, burning through space and time itself!

Wam!

The shockwave slammed against Alex’s black flames and was quickly reduced to nothing! Alex stood like an immovable mountain, gazing at the deity with scornful eyes. He was trying to understand something from this small exchange and he was happy he was right about it.

“You can’t directly harm us, you can only influence things around you as a weapon but that will never be enough to kill me” Alex said calmly and the deity frowned.

“We are restricted by laws when we step into the mortal realm. If not you would have been dead already” the deity said with a cruel look on his face but Alex wasn’t moved.

Instead, a vicious grin could be seen blooming on his face as a sudden surge of power exploded from his body and that of Silver!

.....

It seemed like they shared the same mind and chose to attack at the same time!

Swoosh!

The duo raced forward with their power building fiercely. While Alex allowed black flames to completely consume his hands and dance dangerously, silver was like a ball of light with the purest form of energy surging around his body like comets orbiting a planet!

Since it has been confirmed that the enemy cannot harm them, they definitely won’t let the opportunity to obliterate him without a fear slide!

Ha!

Boom!

The world trembled at their joint attack but when they were done they realized the deity was gone.

“You have been accepted as a part of the high gods. You will assume your position whether you like it or not. The hive will soon reach here. It will take everything away including your life. You will die and become one of us, that is your destiny” the divine voice boomed across the world and faded just as fast as it came.

Alex and Silver stood in mid-air with furrowed eyebrows. For the first time in a long time, they felt deeply threatened by the new arrivals.

High gods!

The actual deities, they were able to get their attention. Alex didn’t know whether to feel excited or terrified. To him, the visit from the enemy meant he is doing something right but it also meant something dangerous was about to happen. Since these high gods can’t reach them directly, they will manipulate those around them to reach them. Today it was the God sect and all the defected guardians under their command. Only God knows what deal they made with these deities.

Huff!

Alex exhaled but his eyes were still filled with worry. He could see the same concern in Silver’s eyes. With his confident look and all that was simply meant for the battle, he didn’t dare show weakness in front of an enemy.

“What do you have to say about all of this?” Alex asked with a raised eyebrow and Silver revealed a bitter smile.

“I don’t know what to say” Silver expressed his honest opinion with a troubled look on his face. His eyes turned to look at the figure standing below, a few hundred meters away.

Little Alex!

Strange thoughts raced through his mind but he pushed them to the back of his mind and looked towards the heavens.

“It seems the heavens have become our enemies. Who knew we would get this big” Silver laughed bitterly.

“I will cover the entire heavens with one hand and shatter it if it dares stand in my way” Alex responded dryly but the deep frown on his face revealed his concern.

“I heard the entire conversation. I got suspicious earlier and hid close by” Silver said.

“I know you were close. That’s why I wasn’t bothered... so what now?” Alex asked the question in his mind.

After this encounter, he kept getting strange thoughts of the possibility that they may actually fail to defend against the hive.

“We gain control over our territories first. The Deity race and the Estos have a perfect grip over their people. We are the only ones holding them back” Silver said with a deep frown.

“You are saying we need to get rid of the rebels fast?” Alex’s eyebrows rose slightly and Silver nodded in agreement.

“My son will deal with it soon. You don’t have to worry” Alex’s eyes shifted to Little Alex who was below and Silver’s eyes followed his gaze.

“The Danites, Alex. We actually need them so I beg you to behave. Even if there is a small chance of these negotiations going well, please just take it!” Silver said with a stern look on his face and Alex frowned.

He would rather destroy the Danite race than have them as allies but considering the way things are looking, even Alex was beginning to have second thoughts. They needed fewer enemies and more allies now. That’s the reality of the entire thing.

“I will pay attention to your words just this once. I hope I won’t end up regretting this decision” Alex said with a sigh.

He quickly turned and left after saying that.

His body graciously descended toward the direction of the crowd gathered but they weren’t the ones he was looking at. His worried gaze was on his wife and son, Creed.

“Are you okay?” Alex asked as he landed and almost ran towards them.

Thanks to Jason, their injuries were healed but Alex knew their hearts were still shaken.

“What are they? Why are they so many?” Sharyn muttered in fear.

“Dad. Are those gods?” Creed was calmer and more direct.

Alex could only nod in response to the boy. Creed possessed a mind far more complex than what a boy his age should have. There was no use hiding things from him.

“Can you win?” Creed asked another question. Shaking the world.
