Douluo Dalu 3: The Legend of the Dragon King

Chapter 1909: The Transcendent Divine Weapon of the Abyssal Plane

Chapter 1909: The Transcendent Divine Weapon of the Abyssal Plane

Demon Sovereign harrumphed coldly, unleashing a spiritual shock to snap the Fierce Sovereign out of his stupor, and at the same time, six purplish-golden balls of light suddenly appeared around her.

The balls of light flashed through the air on set trajectories to form a hexagram while Demon Sovereign lashed out toward the center of Tang Wulin's Fury of the Masses with her fist.

Even in the face of Tang Wulin's Dragon Emperor Fight, her will wasn't shaken in the slightest.

The spear projections converged to strike Demon Sovereign's fist, forcing her into retreat, but the hexagram that she had conjured up earlier seemed to be acting as a cannon, blasting a massive pillar of purplish-golden light directly toward Tang Wulin.

Having snapped out of his stupor, the Fierce Sovereign slashed his halberd horizontally through the air, sending another streak of purple light sweeping toward Tang Wulin.

The main disadvantage that Tang Wulin's team was suffering from was the disparity in raw power between the two camps.

Both Demon Sovereign and the Fierce Sovereign were wielding godly power, and even though it was only a difference of a single rank between a quasigod and a true god, there was a massive difference.

Right at this moment, a beam of starlight descended from the heavens, falling upon the Fierce Sovereign with unerring accuracy.

As a result, the Fierce Sovereign was suddenly swiveled around to the side, and as a result, his attack was redirected toward Demon Sovereign.

This was Xu Xiaoyan's Starlight Reciprocation!

The absolute nature of the Sage Sovereign's Nine Palace Grids had had a severe negative impact on the human camp in the last battle. If it weren't for the Nine Palace Grids, there was no way that the human camp would've suffered so many deaths with such a powerful lineup.

However, on this occasion, the tables were turned, and it was Xu Xiaoyan unleashing her absolute control abilities upon the enemy. The Fierce Sovereign was fully convinced that he was attacking directly forward, yet his halberd was somehow slashing toward Demon Sovereign, who was situated beside him.

Absolute soul skills were extremely rare, but all of them were exceedingly powerful, particularly absolute control system soul skills.

However, in this case, the absolute nature didn't apply universally; it only applied to those below the godly level. In the face of a true deity, the absolute nature would cease to exist.

Even though the Fierce Sovereign's power had reached the godly level, his spiritual power was still lacking, and even more importantly, he didn't have a godseat, which meant that he wasn't a true deity.

Even Demon Sovereign was only a true god, but the lack of a godseat meant that she still hadn't actually attained godhood.

Thus, even she would be unable to resist the effects of an absolute soul skill. However, the absolute nature would be slightly nullified when applied to her.

Hence, Tang Wulin and Gu Yuena were naturally still the keys to this battle, but Xu Xiaoyan was also going to play an extremely important role.

In this critical juncture, her Starlight Reciprocation that was enhanced by her Dazzling Starry Sky Domain proved to be extremely effective.

Through the Starlight Shackles that connected them, Xu Xiaoyan had already informed Tang Wulin of what she was going to do.

Thus, as soon as Demon Sovereign and the Fierce Sovereign began to unleash their attacks, Tang Wulin swiveled around to focus his attention solely on the oncoming pillar of purplish-golden light, paying no heed to the Fierce Sovereign in the process.

The Golden Dragon Spear circled through the air, and as the purplish-golden light struck Tang Wulin's body, it immediately scattered in all directions.

Even though it was pushing the entire human camp backward, it was unable to truly infiltrate Tang Wulin's body.

Meanwhile, the Fierce Sovereign's all-out halberd attack struck Demon Sovereign with unerring accuracy.

It was as if the Fierce Sovereign and Tang Wulin had suddenly decided to join forces with the latter warding off Demon Sovereign's attack while the former attacked from the side.

Demon Sovereign was caught completely off guard, and in the instant that she was struck by the halberd, she immediately let loose an agonized cry.

At the same time, her entire body seemed to have softened, and a massive plume of purplish-golden light erupted forth to send the Fierce Sovereign flying. However, it was already too late; a long gash had been sliced into her waist, and purplish-golden blood was gushing out of the wound.

Her slender waist had been sliced over a quarter of the way through, and even though the wound was healing at an astonishing rate, this was clearly not an insignificant injury.

Tang Wulin and the others naturally weren't going to pass up such a golden opportunity.

Silver light flashed again as the entire group teleported, and on this occasion, Tang Wulin was even more well prepared.

Taking advantage of Demon Sovereign's newly sustained injury and the fact that the Fierce Sovereign had just been blasted away, they appeared right in front of a pair of abyssal emperors.

Immediately thereafter, Dazzling Starlight descended, plunging the two abyssal emperors into a state of chaos, and a burst of tremendous suction force instantly erupted forth.

This was his Dragon Emperor Break!

The pair of hapless abyssal emperors were drawn directly toward Tang Wulin and Gu Yuena, and the twin dragons spears thrust forward in unison, instantly putting an end to their lives.

All of this had happened in the blink of an eye, and after just two clashes, Demon Sovereign had been wounded, while three abyssal emperors had perished.

This was a splendid outcome for Tang Wulin's team considering the opposing camp had two enemies capable of wielding godly power, but there was currently still a grim look on Tang Wulin's face, not because of Demon Sovereign's power, but because of the Fierce Sovereign instead.

Demon Sovereign was a true god, which meant that her body, soul power, and spiritual power had all reached the godly level; all that she was missing was a godseat.

Under these circumstances, her physical constitution definitely wouldn't be inferior to Tang Wulin. However, the Fierce Sovereign's halberd had sliced through her body with ease, which meant that the halberd was capable of slaying gods.

What if the same halberd were to strike one of the members of the human camp? Demon Sovereign's body couldn't withstand it, so there was no way that four-word battle armor would be able to resist it.

The same thought had naturally also occurred to Gu Yuena. If the only enemy they had to be concerned about was Demon Sovereign, then they would be quite confident in their chances, but they didn't think that the abyssal plane would still have such an incredibly powerful being up its sleeve. In terms of pure offensive prowess in melee combat, the Fierce Sovereign was most likely even superior to Demon Sovereign!

Only now did Tang Wulin get a chance to take a good look at the Fierce Sovereign's halberd, and upon closer inspection, he discovered that it was entirely bluish-purple in color and was riddled with peculiar patterns that were giving off a strange light. These patterns were like scales that covered the entire halberd, and even though it wasn't releasing an aura as powerful as that of the Sea God's Trident, the power it contained seemed to be even more fearsome.

It was like a hibernating beast that could awaken and wreak havoc at any moment, and it had to be a divine weapon at the very least.

Tang Wulin was even suspecting that there was a very good chance that this was a transcendent divine weapon.

During the Nine Trials of the Sea God, Tang San had passed on some knowledge regarding planes to Tang Wulin, and this included the topic of divine tools.

Tang San had told him that transcendent divine tools and divine tools were completely different entities, and that in any plane, there would only be a limited number of each.

To put it in simpler terms, aside from in Divine Realms, even the most powerful planes could only produce a single transcendent divine tool each. In fact, not even all Divine Realms had transcendent divine tools.

The Douluo Divine Realm was extremely powerful as it possessed two transcendent divine weapons, namely the Sea God's Trident and the Asura Sword. It wasn't the case that there weren't superior Divine Realms, but even Tang San had never encountered such a Divine Realm before.

In a normal plane, it was virtually impossible for a transcendent divine tool to be produced, and even divine tools were exceedingly rare. This was because a transcendent divine tool was sure to transcend beyond a normal plane, which meant that anyone who possessed a transcendent divine tool in such a plane would be superior to everyone else.

As a result, the owner of the transcendent divine tool would be disrupted and repressed by the plane as the plane would try to reject something that transcended beyond it.
