Chapter 1946: Angelic Ring

He had constructed this building himself, and it was the symbol for the academy's reconstruction.

He had arrived here very early, just after Chen Xinjie had emerged to complete his daily sweeping of the courtyard.

"If you ask me, there's no need for you to give too much weight to what everyone else thinks," Chen Xinjie said as he slowly swept the courtyard.

Tang Wulin shook his head in response. "I'm living in this world, so I have to follow its rules. Besides, Shrek Academy has always upheld a policy of neutrality; I can't allow myself to affect this tradition. In any case, it's time for me to step away anyway. Look at yourself; you were the master of the Battle God Hall, but you've also retired and become a sweeper at our academy, haven't you?"

"A gentleman shouldn't bring up other people's pasts," Chen Xinjie grumbled.

Both of them exchanged a glance and couldn't help but burst into laughter.

Tang Wulin said, "I really need some time to relax, and I really need a home that truly belongs to me, so I'm giving myself 10 years. Shrek Academy and the Tang Sect will still be my home, and I can return at any time."

A slightly more serious look appeared on Chen Xinjie's face upon hearing this. "What are you going to do after that? Are you..."

Tang Wulin nodded in response. "In 10 years, I'm going to begin attempting to create a Divine Realm. I don't know how long it'll take, but I'll be constantly striving toward that goal, and if I succeed, I'll be sure to assist you in ascending into my Divine Realm."

Chen Xinjie smiled, and said, "That's not important anymore. Everything that I currently have is already more than I could ever ask for; every single day that I spend with Yeyue is a blessing from the heavens."

Tang Wulin didn't actually have much ambition to attain godhood as he was already living his best life right now, and the decision to resign from all of his duties was something that he had made a long time ago.

Shrek Academy and the Tang Sect were doing better than ever, Mo Lan had become the president, the Holy Spirit Cult had been destroyed, and the issue surrounding the abyssal plane had been completely resolved. The entire Douluo Continent was thriving, and he had completed his duty.

However, he still had to create a Divine Realm in order to gain the ability to search for his parents. He also had to become more powerful as he knew that only then would he be able to better sense his parents' location.

Even though his divine sense was already quite powerful, he had attempted to sense his parents' auras on many occasions through the Sea God's Trident, but all to no avail.

The only lead that his father had left for him was that the Douluo Divine Realm had been swept into a black hole. Currently, the Douluo Continent's research into space was still sorely lacking, so Tang Wulin didn't even know exactly what a black hole was supposed to be.

Of course, waiting was a choice, but he would rather take the initiative through his own efforts.

Having said that, creating a Divine Realm was definitely no easy task, and he had no idea how he would accomplish such a feat. His plan was to enjoy the married life with Gu Yuena for a while, then discuss with her how to attempt to create a Divine Realm. Currently, the entire Douluo Plane was in a process of evolution, and during this process, they had to decide whether they should help the Douluo Star become a Divine Realm using the energy of the abyssal plane or create an independent smaller Divine Realm.

He and Gu Yuena were the only ones in this world who had reached the true god level, just like Demon Sovereign.

On the topic of Demon Sovereign, one of the people who had been resurrected by Tang Hao came as quite a surprise to Tang Wulin.

All of the Evil Soul Masters of the Holy Spirit Cult had been left dead, but someone related to them had been revived, and that was Lan Fuozi.

Following her resurrection, she merely cast a sorrowful glance toward Tang Wulin before departing, casting a lonesome shadow in her wake. This was proof to Tang Wulin that even though Lan Fuozi was Demon Sovereign's daughter, she had never done any evil deeds in her life.

"I'm going now, Elder Chen," Tang Wulin said with a smile.

Chen Xinjie also smiled, and asked, "Are you sure you don't need us to cheer you on?"

Tang Wulin chuckled, "There's no need for that; this is a matter between her and me. I'll be sure to invite everyone to the wedding."

"Alright, then do your best and don't get rejected, haha," Chen Xinjie said in a teasing manner.

"I'm sure that won't happen," Tang Wulin said with a confident pat of his own chest before rising up into the air.

Meanwhile, the sun was also slowly rising in the sky, casting a warm glow over the landscape, and as Tang Wulin flew up into the air, his entire body was basked in golden radiance.

In the past, he never noticed just how liberating and joyful flying could be.

"I'm coming, Gu Yue," Tang Wulin murmured to himself before flying toward the Spirit Pagoda like a golden shooting star.

He made no effort to conceal himself, so everyone on the ground, and all of the soul detection devices in the area, as well as even the soul satellites in the sky, could clearly see him.

On the top floor of Shrek Academy.

Yue Zhengyu and Xu Xiaoyan were seated side by side on the roof, and the latter asked, "Why won't Captain let us go with him? Shouldn't a proposal be a grand event surrounded by the blessings of friends and loved ones?"

Yue Zhengyu smiled, and said, "Boss must have his own ideas. Didn't he say that he was planning a joint wedding for all of us? We'll all be together then. A proposal is something that concerns only two people, so it's only right that he goes alone."

"Speaking of which, did you ever propose to me?" Xu Xiaoyan asked in a displeased manner.

With a flick of his wrist, a ring appeared on Yue Zhengyu's palm as if he were performing a magic trick. "Xiaoyan, will you marry me?"

Xu Xiaoyan became even more displeased. "You call this a proposal? It's way too rushed! You didn't even put any thought or effort into it!"

Yue Zhengyu smiled, and said, "Look up in the sky. We're basking under the radiance of the rising sun while sitting on the roof of Shrek Academy's main school building. In this instant, everything is unique and one-of-a-kind, just like my love for you. In contrast with that, all contrived ceremonies are cheap and insignificant. Nothing can compare with the love I hold for you in my heart, isn't that right?"

Xu Xiaoyan faltered slightly upon hearing this, and she still felt like something wasn't quite right, but she couldn't help but nod at the sight of Yue Zhengyu's passionate eyes.

They had been together for so long and gone through so much together. In particular, they had both endured the dark period directly following the destruction of Shrek City, and finally, they had reached the light at the end of the tunnel. They had become the pillars of Shrek Academy for this generation.

With the reciprocation they had received from the tree of life, they had both become Hyper Douluos and were sure to be able to reach the Limit Douluo level in the future. There was no doubt that this generation of Shreks Seven Monsters was the most glorious one with the exception of that legendary first generation.

Xu Xiaoyan blushed slightly as she pouted, and said, "Fine, I'll let you off the hook this time."

She raised her hand as she spoke, and a smile just as vibrant as the sun appeared on Yue Zhengyu's face.

He slowly fitted the ring around Xu Xiaoyan's finger, and in that instant, both of them were trembling slightly.

Having endured so much hardship together, they were finally able to come together in marriage, and in the instant the ring was fitted onto Xu Xiaoyan's finger, they had become one.
