Mo Lan stopped in her tracks and turned back to look at him.

Tang Wulin took a deep before making his way over to Mo Lan, then spread his arms to embrace her.

A smile appeared on Mo Lan's face through the tears as she basked in the warmth of his embrace.

"I'm your family, Sister Mo Lan; you're not alone in this world." Tang Wulin also had tears streaming down her face.

"Seeing as we can't run away, then let's face this crisis with courage in our hearts!"

Outside Shrek City, everyone was busy at work.

"Over there, yes, that goes over there. How is the installation surveillance system coming along? Has it been connected with our satellites yet? Has the construction of the soul missile array been completed? What? You still need one more hour? I'll give you 20 more minutes at most! Ling Zichen faltered slightly upon hearing this, having completely failed to anticipate such a reaction from Tang Wulin.

"Don't get all sappy on me!" she snapped as she turned her head away.

Tang Wulin smiled, and said, "Alright, then I'll leave you to your work."

"Wait!" Ling Zichen called out.

"What is it?" Tang Wulin asked.

"Are you alright?" Ling Zichen asked, and her voice finally softened a little.

Tang Wulin smiled, and replied, "Regardless of what hardships arise, I have to face it, not just for myself, but for the survival of countless other people." He rose up into the air as he spoke, then waved Ling Zichen farewell before departing.

Looking on at his departing figure, a series of complex emotions flashed through Ling Zichen's eyes.

Once again, the Spirit Pagoda and Shrek Academy were pitted against one another; perhaps they were destined to be enemies.

First, it was the Qiangu Family colluding with the Holy Spirit Cult to bomb Shrek City, and now, it was Gu Yuena controlling countless high-grade Soul Masters and leading the soul beast army on a revenge mission against the human race. On both occasions, Shrek Academy had to bear the full brunt of the crises.

Even to this day, the Shrek City bombing was fresh in everyone's minds; that was a disaster that had claimed millions of lives!

Perhaps this was a tribulation that the Douluo Continent had to face.

First, it was the Holy Spirit Cult and the abyssal plane, and now, it was the Myriad Beast Plane. These calamities weren't just hurting the living beings of the continent physically, but also mentally.

The entire continent was in a state of panic, and there was no way to keep this latest crisis a secret, so order could only be forcibly maintained through the military.

As the new president, Mo Lan was trying to earn the trust of the people through her actions. She had already arrived at Shrek City, and she had declared to everyone that if the soul beast army wanted to conquer the continent, then they would have to step over her dead body.

Tang San, Tang Hao, and Ah Yin had resolved the issue of the ailing life energy on the Douluo Star, but the soul beasts were still on the brink of extinction.
