Chapter 31. A Pitiful Island That Has Been Ravaged Several Times

A long time before Ren Qingchen arrived.

While gossiping about his uncle and fatty's aunt. Ren Qingquan, fatty Zhang, Peak Master Fen, and that senior brother who he was somehow too lazy to ask the name of, finally arrived at the ruins located in the middle of Meteor Island.

Looking at the massive and complicated structure made of unknown stone-like materials built on top of a tall mountain, the group stood in awe as they looked at it from the foot of that mountain.

Walking through the mountain step that somehow stayed in pristine condition even though no one has cleaned or repaired it. The four of them visited the building one by one while inspecting every nook and cranny of this suspected sect from another world.

According to the legends spread in this world, several hundred years ago, a huge flaming meteor fell from the sky toward the southern area of this continent. The meteor, with its massive size, collided with a small part of the continent and caused it to explode before turning into an archipelago.

That explosion also caused a huge earthquake never before seen in the history of this world. It directly piqued the interest of many experts at that time who saw the location where the meteor fell and thought there would be treasure brought along with it.

Upon arriving at the location where the meteor fell, those experts who have walked through the scene of carnage caused by the meteor were incredibly shocked.

Compared to the surrounding scene of destruction, the place where that meteor fell has turned into a beautiful island with a huge mountain at its center which is surrounded by many precious plants.

Arriving at the mountain in that island's center, those people could see an extremely wondrous building complex which seems to be a part of a certain sect.

Just like that, not only more and more martial artists gathered toward that island. Even some poets and painters went there to appreciate the beauty of an island said to have even more grandeur than any empire's palace.

After several hundred years, the island has been visited by God knows how many people that continued to take some 'souvenirs' from the island.

At the beginning, they just took the books stored in the sect ruins and precious plants on that island. As all the books had been taken and all precious plants disappeared, those visitors even went as far as taking some stone and soils from the island under the mentality of unwilling to return empty handed.

If not for the mysterious sect building’s stone blocks that couldn't be pulled even by a Martial Emperor, There wouldn't even be anything left above this island.

And so after another hundred years, that island decreased in size by a third before those people were satisfied. Nowadays, some people still visit the island to try their luck and search for something the previous group might have overlooked.

The four of them soon arrived at the peak of this mountain where a stone building decorated with many ornate engraving is located.

After searching around the building, the four of them still found no gains. Looking at Ren Qingquan and thinking he might be disappointed after not getting the technique he searched for, Peak Master Fen started to appease him.

"It seems we couldn't find the continuation of your technique right now. Let's continue tomorrow, the sky has already darkened."

Hearing Peak Master Fen's suggestion, Ren Qingquan nodded.

"Well, whatever. At most I will look for a new martial arts technique once we return to Martial Spirit Sect to advance toward Martial Saint realm."

As Peak Master Fen looked at Ren Qingquan's face that didn't seem to be upset or disappointed, he nodded.

One night, just when Peak Master Fen started to sing as a punishment for losing their game, a surprised sound came from nearby the sea.

"Ren Qingquan? You are still alive?! How?! "

Hearing someone calling his name, Ren Qingquan subconsciously glanced toward the source of that sound where he saw Ren Qingchen standing with one of his stains in life, Third Princess.

'How rude! Does the first thing you say when meeting someone is asking why they haven't died yet? Should I say as expected of a main character like a person, even their greeting is different than usual.'

While Ren Qingquan is thinking about some silly things. A storm is currently happening in Ren Qingchen's brain.

'No wonder. It is no wonder Ren Shiluo didn't chase after me. Is it possible that the massive change I initially thought happened due to the butterfly effect of my existence actually happened due to leaving Ren Qingquan alive? The surrounding people gathered toward both of them. Third uncle looked curiously at Ren Qingchen before glancing at Ren Qingquan.

"Do you know him?"

"Me! Me! I know him!"

Fatty screamed as he raised his hand.

"That guy is called Ren Qingchen, someone from the branch of Ren family. Last year he beat the shiet out of brother Ren at his family's annual tournament!"

Ren Qingquan glanced at fatty Zhang weirdly.

'Why do you have that excited face when talking about someone beating me!?'

When the two groups talked, a massive wave came from the shore of Meteor Island. A long howling sound accompanied by a massive tsunami like water mark the arrival of a huge wolf that appeared in front of all of them.

Hearing that sound, the Third Princess that has been silent all this while panicked and immediately left.

"That wolf is here! Let's run! "

Ren Qingquan could also see Ren Qingchen's face change into one of shock as he ran following the Third Princess. He also doesn't forget to bid farewell and warn Ren Qingquan's group

"We have been chased by a Martial Emperor wolf until here, so we are taking our leave first. All of you should try to escape and hide while it is not here yet as that wolf should only chase after both the Third Princess and me."

Ren Qingquan's group also prepared to run in another direction. The wolf suddenly opened its mouth while glaring at them.

"HUMAN!! I REMEMBER YOU! "

Hearing that giant wolf's speech, everyone at the scene, whether it is Ren Qingchen and Third Princess or Ren Qingquan's group, all glared in shock.

After being knocked back by a wave of that wolf's paw, Ren Qingquan could see that wolf quickly running toward his direction.

Luckily, just when that wolf was merely several meters from him, Peak Master Fen arrived with an extremely angry face.

"You Fukin mutt! I will frickin slash you into several fine pieces! I don't care whether you could talk, sing, dance, or something else. I will place your meat in a hot pot and eat it!!"

Peak Master Fen:ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ

"ALSO, CATCH AFTER THOSE TWO LITTLE SHIETs! How dare they leave us to fight against this wolf! They definitely placed some trick on us when we talked so this wolf will target us!! Just you wait when I get my hand on your little shiets, I will definitely make you regret being born!"

Looking at the usually amiable Peak Master Fen finally showing his true face, Ren Qingquan quickly activated his [Scan] and quickly pointed toward the direction Ren Qingchen and Third Princess left.

From how that wolf glared at him before screaming. He just hoped Peak Master Fen wouldn't realize the reason this wolf is fighting against their group is most likely related to him. Although Ren Qingquan doesn't know what Peak Master is going to do toward the so-called little shiet Ren Qingchen and Third Princess, he definitely doesn't want to join them and try it.

As they walked toward the direction of Ren Qingchen and Third Princess that had been pointed in the system map, he ran at the front of the team chasing after both of them.

Behind their group, that wolf is still chasing after them while screaming incomprehensible things and looking like a rabid dog. His uncle, fatty's aunt, and Peak Master Fen ran at the end of their group while taking turns to delay the wolf.

Soon after, their group arrived near the ruins of that mysterious sect on the mountain at the center of Meteor Island.

When Ren Qingquan reached the foot of that mountain, he could see Ren Qingchen and the Third Princess busy digging one of the easily overlooked parts of that mountain. From his observation using a system map, they have been doing that since several minutes ago.

Seeing their group, he could see Ren Qingchen called into them.

"Come here and help us to dig this. There should be a path to leave behind this."

Hearing Ren Qingchen's word, Ren Qingquan, fatty, and that senior brother went there and joined hand to dig in the direction Third Princess pointed.

While digging, Ren Qingquan is actually extremely shocked as he suddenly saw a small tunnel hidden inside this mountain through a system map that only appears when he is within 100 meters of said tunnel.

The current system's map is capable of seeing the terrain of up to 1 kilometers radius around him, making the system map's range to be shaped like a ball. Although it is getting blurry the further it is, that is still a whole 1 kilometer nevertheless.

But, there has never been a precedent of something suddenly appearing at the system map like this before!
