Chapter 160 Small Boat
Lei Zhen remained unaware of the upcoming article that Jack Frigel was writing.
He was currently at the Royal Palace center room, where he was summoned by Francis.
"There's only us three here, Lei Zhen. Do you mind taking off the mask?" Francis sat on his throne and calmly said.
To his left and right side respectively, there were Robert Knightman and Kate. As for the other guards and maids, they were all dismissed preemptively.
Lei Zhen nodded his head and took off his mask gently. He only feared that players would recognize his identity, but not so much toward the NPCs.
Not to mention, all three of them that were present here had seen his real face already. Hence, there wasn't a point to keep his mask on.
"Anyway, why was I summoned?" Lei Zhen asked, not feeling a bit pressured by the situation.
Francis remained quiet for a few seconds before taking a small glance at Kate and then back to Lei Zhen.
"I've heard rumors that you wanted to resign your rank as the Chancellor. Is that rumor true?" Francis asked.
"Yes, that is indeed true. I've planned to resign the moment Kate ascended to become queen."
"May I ask for the reason? Is it that we have neglected you or is there someone that bugged you? We can try to accommodate some changes so long as you stay."
Lei Zhen twitched his brows slightly.
ραпdα nᴏνa| сom From what Lei Zhen knew of Francis, he wasn't the type to bother asking for a reason if he wanted to resign from the position.
Therefore, the only possibility was that Kate bugged or asked him to try and keep him here.
Even though Kate had already mentioned not forcing him to leave, she didn't promise or mentioned not having someone else to persuade him.
'Damn, she's really learning fast. To try and borrow a knife to do the deed. What a good tactic indeed.' Lei Zhen praised her inwardly.
However, she was still lacking a bit in this aspect since Francis knew that if he wanted to leave, then nothing else could prevent him.
His action alone was enough to tell Francis about his decisiveness which showed no hesitation once decided on something.
Thus, Francis was merely putting up a show to please his beloved daughter.
'Truly, being a king is difficult, but being a father is even more difficult.' Lei Zhen thought to himself.
Shaking his head, Lei Zhen proceeded to explain his reasons, such as wanting to explore the world and not be trapped in a single place for a long period of time.
"Yors Castle is indeed a beautiful and fantastic country. But I don't want to get too comfortable and not glance at the other parts of the world." Lei Zhen calmly explained, his eyes staring at Kate, who kept her head down.
It was clear that she was feeling guilty for making her father persuade him, but couldn't stop herself from attempting to give it a try.
"Haha, that's the mindset a young blood should have. Instead of getting comfy with your position, you should seek out more adventures when young." Robert Knightman laughed heartily.
He then stared at Kate and smiled teasingly. "Kate, you should learn to let a man go when he has the desire to explore. If you really wish to keep him, then be a good queen and make a name for yourself. That way, you can make him come begging for you."
Instantly, Kate's face turned beet red as she quickly covered her face with her hands, clearly embarrassed by his words.
As a gentleman, Lei Zhen turned a blind eye to it, acting as if he didn't hear or see what just happened.
"Anyway, I have made my decision, so no need to persuade me further, King Francis. I'm sure Yors Castle doesn't need my assistance no more with the recent purge, capture of the black mage, and the external crisis being solved temporarily." Lei Zhen said.
The black mage's fate was still undecided but that was no longer his problem to solve.
As for the Lizardarks folks, they have successfully formed an alliance with Yors Castle, promising to eliminate any non-intelligence monsters from approaching the defense border of Yors Castle.
And vice-versa, Yors Castle would trade with the Lizardark to improve their harmonic relationships.
In other words, it was a win-win situation for the two as they get to survive and live in their respective territory.
To conclude, almost 80 to 90 percent of the problem of the country had been resolved, meaning there wasn't much for Lei Zhen to do here.
Not to mention, he was here to play a game and explore the world. Having to do document work like normal office workers was definitely not something Lei Zhen wished to do.
Meanwhile, Francis nodded his head in acknowledgment. "Since you are adamant about your resignation, I still give you an honorary title, and you are always welcome here at Yors Castle."
"Thank you, King Francis."
"Don't thank me yet." Francis chuckled softly.
"I'm not done with rewarding you. You already received some treasure in the treasury trove so I won't include that, but since you wanted to explore the world. Then I shall give you a small boat to travel with." He added.
Lei Zhen raised an eyebrow.
'A small boat to explore?' He wondered silently.
"Haha, a young blood is really a young blood in the end. Don't you know Yors Castle is kind of surrounded by ocean and seas? Having a small boat would allow you to travel to other continents or countries." Robert Knightman laughed heartily when he saw the confusion on Lei Zhen's face.
"I-Is that so?" Lei Zhen said awkwardly, feeling like he was being judged by Robert again for his ignorance.
Never did he expect that he would have to travel the oceans or seas since he thought there was teleportation in this world.
'Looks like I have to read more information regarding Magnolia and its functions. Otherwise, I'm going to be looking dumb every single time.' He thought to himself.
