Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 167 166: Regret

Silence permeated the room as Oscar had a look of contemplation as his eyes never left the transparent vial, various thoughts running through his mind.

Almost a minute passed then a breath of turbid of air was released from his lips. With slightly quivering hands, he dropped the gun in his hand, picked up his dropped Cuban cigar and with a snap of his fingers, a spark appeared, lighting the Cuban cigar.

Taking a deep inhale which was longer than normal, Oscar then blew a puff, slightly calming his nerves in the process. He took another puff and for a few seconds, a pondering light appeared in his eyes as his body moved due to the office chair he was sitting on.

"You do know that we already have the types of narcotics we sell?"

"I do."

With a calm nod, Anon replied, causing a slight frown to appear on the face of Oscar. His free hand moved to the pistol on the table and with a calm movement, he placed his hand on the gun.

"We are under a higher power, and selling a different and unauthorized type of product would definitely affect us."

As Oscar spoke, he held the gun by the grip and with cold eyes, he aimed it at Anon once again… His intension and reply clear as day.

Although the allure and temptation of the benefits he could gain from selling Neon was a lot, in fact almost irresistible… The fear he had towards the people above him, the real unknown leaders, was also quite a lot.

"Hahh."

A soft sigh was released from Anon's lips and with a calm expression, he folded his arms while tapping his muscular biceps which was covered by the large hoodie.

"So just because you're a coward, you refuse to go forward?... You refuse to improve, to get stronger and obtain a chance of living in the inner area or central area in the future?"

Click

"Last warning."

A soft click resounded as Oscar deactivated the safety once again and with a cold tone, he spoke.

But despite the threat to his life, Anon just kept on looking at Oscar and around two seconds later, he rested his head on his hand. His eyes utterly calm and indifferent, unsettling Oscar slightly.

Seconds passed and Oscar's hand trembled slightly with his index finger on the trigger. His hand moved and then:

Bang! Bang!

Thud Thud

"Well that was unexpected."

A mutter escaped Anon's lips as he looked at the fallen guards which had a bullet hole in their heads.

Click

"You're next."

Once again, Oscar spoke as he aimed the pistol at Anon, but Anon remained utterly calm and indifferent while crossing his legs. His eyes moved away from the two corpses, and with an indifferent but slightly curious expression, he spoke:

"Why did you kill them by the way?"

"Only a few shall know of my real name."

"Hmm… Makes sense I guess."

Hearing Oscar's reply, Anon nodded, then he released a sigh and with a calm expression, he stood and surprisingly, Oscar did not shoot this time around, he only had a frown as he continued to aim the gun at Anon's head.

"Why don't we stop all these charades and games…"

Step

As Anon spoke, he took a calm step, entirely unbothered by the gun threatening his life.

"You're not going to kill me…"

Step

" You're a greedy bastard with ambitions…"

Step

"You want to go higher, make more money, have more power…"

Step

"You want more of everything…"

Step

"So I'll ask you now Oscar…"

Step

"… Are you hungry?"

His tone although contained indifference, it was oddly… alluring, almost like the whisper of the devil… speaking out his inner desires.

Was he, Oscar hungry?

Hungry for what exactly?, He asked himself.

But despite him asking himself, he already knew the answer to that question. It wasn't something of an argument, it was… the truth.

And with this answer, he looked at Anon's outstretched hand, intending to give him a handshake, then he looked at Anon's devilishly handsome face, his fully black eyes which was devoid of any emotion.

And a second later, Oscar dropped the pistol in his hand, released a sigh and after taking another puff of his Cuban cigar, he spoke:

"What about the leaders… How do you plan on dealing with them?"

"That's my business to handle… You just do what you do best… sell and move the products."

Oscar looked at Anon once again, and after releasing a puff of his Cuban cigar, he dropped it and with a soft mutter,

"I hope I don't regret this."

Oscar, shook Anon's hand, causing a smile to form on the lips of Anon.

"Wise choice…"

Anon said, then Oscar tried to release his hand from the handshake, but he realized… that he could not.

He tried once again to remove his hand, but like an iron grip on his hands, Anon refused to let go of his hands.

He looked up and when he saw the indifferent expression on the face of Anon, an ominous premonition appeared in his mind.

"What is the meaning of –"

Crack

"AAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!"

"Next time… do not shoot at me."

With a cold and emotionless tone, Anon spoke as he held a twisted and clearly broken index finger of Oscar.

Crack

"AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!"

"This is a reminder to never betray me in your life… or there would be consequences."

"… Fu- Fuc- Fuucck."

Oscar cursed as he held his right hand which had two broken fingers and with sweat and tears on his face, he looked at the demon who was the source of his current agony.

"You can try the Neon yourself, or you can test it out on somebody… it's your choice… I'll send the remaining Neon products for you to sell."

Anon said as he walked towards the door of the office he was in with an indifferent expression, and without sparing Oscar a glance.

Some seconds passed and,

Thud.

Oscar had gritted teeth as he looked at the closed door and with sweat forming on his face, he spoke:

"I regret this."
