Sovereign of the Firmaments

In each firmament, the family that was blessed by the Heavens with Sovereign grade would rule it and naturally, they have absolute control in the firmament.

However, in the Barren firmament, the highest rank of a family blessed by the heavens was only Duke grade and it was the Crestlance family, who declared themselves as the Royal family of the firmament.

Nevertheless, if another family gains the Sovereign grade or even duke grade by the Heavens, it would make them a laughing stock in the entire firmament world.

So, the Crestlance family came up with a plan of making all the families that were blessed by the Heavens their subsidiary families. 

By doing so, even if other families gain the 'Duke' status from the Heavens, they could not become the royal family of the barren firmament.

Currently, many ranked families were brought under the royal family by all means. If a family resists swearing their allegiance till the very end, then the royal family secretly destroys that family by not their hands; instead, by borrowing the help of others as they would receive the punishment from the heavens for destroying a family blessed by the heavens.

"So, what do you think? Isn't it very easy to just swear your loyalty to the royal family and enjoy so many privileges?"

Commander Gill asked with a slight smile because the sooner he finishes the mission, the sooner he could go back to take his own rewards from the royal family.

'Swearing my loyalty to the royal family? That is basically becoming the servant of the royal family.'

Even though the benefits looked great on the surprise, Lucas knew he was cutting off his own growth by becoming the subsidiary family of another family.

No matter how high his family's grade increased, it could not become the Sovereign of a single firmament, not to mention becoming the Sovereign of the firmaments.

"And what if I don't want to swear my loyalty?"

Once he understood the motive of the arrival of the royal battalion, Lucas became calm and directly stood up from his seat.

"Young man, are you sure about this? Don't you want to consult your family's guardian?"

Commander Gill was not at all surprised with Lucas' reactions as he directed his question to the old Bernard who was sitting next to Lucas' seat.

"My duty is to follow the family head's orders. Whether the family grows or destroys, it is entirely up to the family head's decision."

After coming to this firmament, the old man noticed that Lucas changed a lot and gained enough confidence in him. That's the reason why he even left Silverstone town when he was given a mission by Lucas.

So, to the commander's question, Bernard replied with a nonchalant look on his face.

"Since Commander Gill got the answer, you and your battalion can leave my town."

Lucas didn't waste any time as he asked Commander Gill to leave.

'Huh? What the hell?  They were not getting intimidated by my battalion at all?'

Commander Gill frowned when he saw how serious Lucas was and fearless when rejecting the royal decree because until now, there was no one who rejected with such a fearless face.

Even though getting rejected was not common, getting rejected with a fearless face was commander Gill's first time experiencing.

"Are you sure you want to do this the hard way?"

Finally, commander Gill decided to act his usual way and asked Lucas while releasing his tier 1 higher knight's pressure.

"So, you want to attack me? Are you sure that the royal family is willing to face the consequences from the heavens after destroying my family?"

Lucas knew that the families blessed by the heavens can't destroy each other unless they want to face the consequences from the heavens.

Moreover, he was very sure that the royal family would never do such a thing when they were planning to become the Sovereign grade family.

"Haha .... Ignorance is such bliss."

Commander Gill was surprised for a moment when he heard Lucas' words; however, soon, he started laughing as he continued, "If you think I can't do anything to your family just because of that, then you are wrong."

While saying that, Commander Gill looked at the 10 elite soldiers behind him and said, "From this moment onwards, you are no longer the elite soldiers of the royal family. You are on your own and you can do anything you want."

"Destroy your badges and you can leave from here."

Gill seriously said to the elite soldiers who didn't even think for a second before crushing the badges around their necks.

"So, what do you think, young man? Now, they don't have anything to do with the royal family and they could do anything to you."

"They can kill all the men and take good care of the women in your family."

As soon as he finished his words, Commander Gill turned to leave the main hall; however, when he was at the door, he stopped and informed Lucas, "If you change your mind, they might leave your family in one piece."

Once he finished his words, Commander Gill left the meeting hall with a knowing smile.

'How many times have I done it? Let's see how long he will last.'

This was the thought in Commander Gil's mind as he silently waited for Lucas to give in to his request.

'Looks like it is time to test the new system feature.'

However, Lucas shook his head at the actions of the Commander Gill as he looked at the 10 elite soldiers.

Each one of them had a strength of tier 5 general knight and even the old man Bernard could not defeat a single one of them as he was an injured tier 5 general knight.

"Young master, stand back."

As usual, the old Bernard stood in front of Lucas to protect him which made Lucas reveal a slight smile on his face.

"Old man, move aside and let me take care of them."

Lucas ordered the old man to move aside as he wanted to test the new system feature 'Town management feature'.
