The Fears Of A Billionaire

Chapter 90 - 90 The Counter Strike

Chapter 90: Chapter 90 The Counter Strike

The adrenaline was still pumping as Dominic, Alyssa, and Ivan raced down the winding roads of Montenegro, the estate disappearing in the distance. Their success at planting the bug felt fleeting, knowing full well Volkov was a man who never left loose ends.

Dominic clenched his jaw. "Ivan, get us to the rendezvous point. We need to upload this data immediately."

Ivan nodded, keeping his eyes on the road. "I've set up a secure location not far from here. We'll have just enough time before Volkov's goons catch on."

Alyssa looked out the back window, still scanning the horizon for any sign of pursuit. "We won't have long. Volkov's going to hit back hard. He's too smart to let this go unanswered."

Dominic glanced at her, seeing the same tension he felt. "We can't stay in the shadows forever. Once this data gets out, Volkov will be exposed, and his empire will start to crumble."

Alyssa met his gaze. "Let's just hope we can survive long enough to see it happen."

An hour later, they arrived at a remote safehouse nestled in the mountains. Eleanor and Marcus were already there, tapping into their network of contacts and preparing to spread the recordings.

Eleanor greeted them as they entered. "Did you get it?"

Dominic tossed a small flash drive onto the table. "It's all here. Volkov's entire plan—his alliances, his power play, everything. We just need to get this out to the right people."

Marcus sat at the computer, immediately plugging in the drive. His fingers danced across the keyboard as he began decrypting and uploading the data to their secure servers. "I'll send it to every major intelligence agency and news outlet we have contacts with. This is too big to bury."

Laura appeared from the back room, her expression grim. "The moment this goes live, Volkov's going to retaliate. Hard."

Dominic nodded, knowing what was coming. "We need to be ready. This is it. Once Volkov knows we've exposed him, he'll come after us with everything he's got."

Alyssa crossed her arms. "Let him come. We've been playing defense for too long."

The room buzzed with activity as they prepared for the next phase. Marcus finished the uploads, hitting send on multiple encrypted lines. "It's done. The world will know who Volkov really is."

For a moment, the room was silent. It was the calm before the storm.

Volkov sat in his dark office, the flicker of multiple screens illuminating his face. His fingers steepled as he watched the world react in real time. News networks were exploding with the leaks. Reports were pouring in from intelligence agencies, each one confirming what the recordings had exposed. His alliances were faltering, some partners already distancing themselves, while others sent panicked messages demanding answers.

Volkov's expression was calm, but inside, he seethed. Dominic and his team had pulled off the unthinkable. They had turned the world against him, unraveling years of careful planning. But it wasn't over. He still had cards to play.

"Contact our people in Montenegro," he said coldly to his lieutenant. "I want Dominic and his team found and eliminated. No mistakes. I don't care how many bodies it takes."

The lieutenant nodded, his face tight with tension. "Yes, sir."

Volkov stared at the screen showing Dominic's face his enemy. The man who had dared to strike at his empire. Volkov's eyes darkened. He had underestimated Dominic once, but that wouldn't happen again.

This time, he would finish it.

Back at the safehouse, the team huddled around a table. Every screen in the room was alive with breaking news, the fallout from the leaks spreading rapidly. Politicians, corporate moguls, and shadowy figures were scrambling to cover their tracks. The magnitude of what they had just unleashed was becoming clearer by the second.

"We hit him where it hurts," Marcus said, staring at the feeds. "But Volkov's not going to just let this slide."

Dominic stood by the window, watching the forest outside, deep in thought. "No, he won't. But now, he's exposed. His network is compromised, and his allies are abandoning him. He's going to get desperate."

Alyssa's voice was steady but concerned. "Desperate people are dangerous."

Laura, standing by the comms, suddenly stiffened. "We've got incoming. Multiple vehicles, about ten minutes out."

Everyone snapped into action. Dominic grabbed his weapon, his mind racing. "Volkov's men. He didn't waste any time."

Eleanor moved to the computer, pulling up surveillance feeds from around the safehouse. "We've got eyes on them. It's a hit squad. They're coming for us."

Alyssa loaded her weapon and checked the exits. "Looks like we're not done fighting yet."

Marcus slid a tactical vest over his suit. "We can't outrun them this time."

Dominic nodded, the weight of what was coming settling over him. "We make our stand here. Volkov's not getting to us, not now. Not after everything."

They spread out, each taking positions around the safehouse, preparing for the inevitable assault. The tension was thick, but their resolve was unshakable.

As the sound of approaching engines filled the air, Dominic looked at his team—his family. They had been through hell together, and now they were facing one of the most dangerous men in the world. But they had come too far to back down now.

"This is it," Dominic said quietly, his voice strong. "We end this. One way or another."

The roar of the vehicles grew louder, and the first glint of headlights appeared through the trees. Volkov's men were coming. And Dominic knew that this battle would decide everything.

They were about to face the serpent in his den.
