Chapter 30: Charley Vents Her Anger
Chapter 30: Charley Vents Her Anger
Outside the village, the orange portal was floating high and mighty, as if a sun that illuminates all. It didn't take long for that portal to be completely formed.
Just a little while had passed, three humanoids monsters came out from the portal and they all landed slowly on the ground and gazed at the village in front of them. The aura they exuded was frightening, and one could tell that they were in the level of S-rank.
"So this is the place, huh, It's a pity that only our group was able to reach here." The humanoid monster in the middle spoke in dismay.
Its skin was purplish same as the pupil of its eyes. Its eyes were devoid of feeling as if the only thing it knew was to cause destruction. It was wearing black armor and its long and thin tail was swinging left and right.
"It really is a pity, if only the aura of the 'Original Sin' leaks out for a longer time, we might as well be able to use the red or black portal." The humanoid monster from the right spoke this time. All three of them were all in the same kind and all of them were exuding an aura of hostility that as if it was naturally leaking out from them.
"We must be careful, this is the Maharlika Kingdom even though it is so much smaller compared to any of the 'Mainlands', its strength as a whole didn't pale in comparison." The humanoid monster from the left spoke this time.
"You're exaggerating things, don't forget that we already have taken down their strongest family five years ago." The humanoid monster in the middle laughed heartily.
"And don't forget as well that it is only because of one of the 'Knights', a pureblooded demon, making a move himself in his peak. And that causes him to recuperate until now." The humanoid monster from the left reminded the other party.
"Hmph, I don't believe it. These humans probably have used some kind of cunning tricks to deceive sir Demon Knight!" The humanoid monster in the middle harrumphed coldly, "Let's see how strong the humans living in here."
After which, he gazed to the village intently and readied himself to invade in there. He could see a couple of humans inside, staring in their direction. There were also two humans outside the village that seemed to guard the gate but for them, they only thought of the other party as cannon fodder.
"So they are also using a puny barrier instead of towering walls huh. Well, what can a wall even do against us anyway?" The humanoid monster in the middle commented in pity.
The village was a hundred meters away from them but to someone like them, they only needed a step to reach that distance. He kneeled slightly to the ground and touched the ground with his two hands. Veins pop out from his knees, hands, arms, and neck, as he readied himself to forcefully bash through the village's barrier.
However, barely after all his preparation, he found that the world before him was rotating wildly. When the rotation stopped, he saw someone of his kind with a missing head in the middle of his two comrades, falling to the ground.
That time, he immediately realized what had happened. He was beheaded by who knows who! Even after his last breath, he never had a chance to at least take a glance at that someone who killed him.
"Tsk! Tsk! So unlucky!" The owner of the voice clicked his tongue in dismay. "Only a Semi-Demons? And only three of them at that? The world really is unfair!"
The other two 'Semi-Demons' found their body stiffening in fright as they couldn't turn around to at least glance at who was behind them. They both only saw their comrade helplessly fell to the ground as his head dropped away from his neck.
"Say, how many of your kind is planning to come out here, can you tell them to hasten their actions? You can't be planning that only the three of you will be my prey right?"
Staring up above him of where the orange portal was, that person grumbled to the two Semi-Demons. Who could that person be other than Sam?
He was the one who cut down the head of the Semi-Demon from before. He moved so fast that the three of the Semi-Demons didn't even see him coming. Even the wind failed to warn them when this monster passed through the middle of them.
Run!
That was the only word that they wanted to do but failed to carry off. Even breathing was hard for them and it was becoming harder as time went on.
Seeing both of them who remain rooted on the same spot, Sam turned around and walked closer to the both of them and patted each of their shoulders with his hands.
Heavy pressure immediately weighed them down as their body wanted to kneel to the ground but their body was so stiffened that it couldn't.
"Don't be afraid, I'm just asking for something and I will only kill you after that. Don't worry, it's only a moment of pain and then after that, you won't feel anything anymore. Easy right?" Sam muttered calmly as his silent voice thundered on their ears in the loudest.
Mustering all their courage and circulating their World Energy throughout their stiffened body, both of the Semi-Demons were just about to retaliate when they found the world before them rotating wildly. Their head rolled away and their body fell with a heavy thud. Even after their last breath, they failed to see the person who killed them.
"Tsk." Sam clicked his tongue in displeasure, not being satisfied in his share. He then turned his gaze to the portal above him and mumbled, "Maybe I should try entering the portal first to look around. That crazy woman probably needed some time to finish casting her spell."
"I doubt it." Just after he spoke those words, the voice of a woman sounded in his ears. Immediately, his body turned frozen in fright as he cursed himself for being too impulsive.
He turned around only to see Charley standing right in front of him. He turned meekly and explained with a bitter smile, "Tita you're here! You know it's not..."
"Shut up and scram!"
"Yes!" Sam was just about to explain himself when Charley immediately interrupted him. Without any complaint, he disappeared from where he was standing and appeared right in front of the village.
"Damn it! That woman is too much!" Only when Charley was not around only then he complained. "Just because she's a 'little' stronger than me, she's always threatening me!"
After which, he immediately noticed that the silver light that was trying to pierce through the barrier made by Jason was already nowhere in sight.
"Did she finished her spell already?" Sam muttered in disbelief. "Did she accelerated the time needed to cure the person she was curing? But if she did, it would cost her a great amount of World Energy!"
"I think so too, but just let her be. She probably can't wait any longer to vent all her anger." Jason who was seating and watching the situation agreed to Sam's conjecture. "She probably still can't accept the fate she and her children have to bear. After all, there are no parents who want to forget their children or see them killing each other."
"..."
This time, Sam was completely lost for words for even though he didn't know the feelings of parents for their siblings, as a human, he knew the gist of it. He shifted his gaze to Charley and found her staring at the portal.
Though she was from afar and her back was against them, Sam could still see the sorrows and grievances in her eyes.
Her surroundings seemed to respond with her emotions as the clouds gathered around and were ready to cry. Cold wind embraced her body as if condoling her on her grievance.
"If only those demons didn't exist..." Charley mumbled those words in coldness as her piercing glare was as if could melt everything it landed on. She then flew elegantly to reach the portal and cursed in her heart, "I will slaughter you all, demons!"
After which, she touched the spherical portal with her slender hands and was immediately sucked inside.
The clouds couldn't bear their tears anymore and rain poured down from above. The thunder cried out as well and the angry wind whistled all around. Lightning crawled to the clouds and bit the land. Trees wanted to run only to stumble upon the ground.
The whole world was shaking as if saying, "The 'world' really is unfair!"
