You're My Only Star

A week later, Song Xing Xing sent someone to pick up Xia Yu and drove her over to her house. Seeing Xia Yu appear at the door almost made her move to tears.

"Xia Yu, you're here." Song Xing Xing stepped aside to let her friend into the house.

The caretaker pushed the wheelchair inside. She promised to come back again to pick up Xia Yu after a few hours and leave.

Xia Yu gave Song Xing Xing a look over and her gaze finally stopped at her bulging tummy. "I didn't notice it the last time we met because of the coat you wore." Xia Yu smiled. "It seemed that your tummy is bigger than the last time I saw you at the airport."

Song Xing Xing laughed. "Un." Her eyes shone brightly as she recalled her conversation with Xia Yu before she departed to A City some time ago. "Xia Yu, you are right. The doctor said I'm carrying a twin."

"Congratulations. The house will definitely be livelier once the babies are born."

Hearing her words, Song Xing Xing heaved out a sigh. "I'm looking forward to meeting them. However, I'm a little worried."

"You will be fine. The doctor will be around to assist you. If you have anything to ask, you can always ask me. When will you give birth?"

Song Xing Xing patted her tummy. "There are still more than four months to go. But perhaps, I will give birth a little earlier than expected."

"Have you decided whether you are going to do it?"

"I think I wanted to try giving birth to them normally. But I will still need to consult the doctor. We'll see what will happen later." Song Xing Xing smiled. She watched as Auntie Wei came out to serve some refreshments for the guest and she left to prepare for their lunch.

"Let's not talk about me. Xia Yu, when did you and Huo Yun Chen get together?"

Xia Yu lowered her head shyly. She had expected that the reason Song Xing Xing had invited her to come over was to ask this question. From the moment they run into each other at the restaurant, Xia Yu could sense Song Xing Xing's inquiring gaze.

She had thought that her friend was going to text her the moment she arrived home but after a few days, Xia Yu only received an invitation to have lunch together at Lu's residence.

Xia Yu had already prepared herself to answer Song Xing Xing's question, but now that they were face to face, Xia Yu felt a little shy.

"Not too long ago," Xia Yu admitted. She looked at her friend and a thought suddenly came to her mind. "You don't seem surprised to hear this news."

"Would you believe it if I tell you that I could sense that the two of you would be great together? " Song Xing Xing chuckled. "Come on, tell me how did the two of you get together? That's right. Huo Yun Chen already knew that you are Shadow, right?"

Xia Yu nodded.

"So that's why I could sense that there was something different when the two of you showed up in battle together." Song Xing Xing tilted her head to one side. "How do I say this... I think the two of you worked well together as if you could read each other's mind."

Her face turned a little red as she thought of how Song Xing Xing could notice the change. These days, the two of them would log into the game together and fight monsters for a few rounds. With Huo Yun Chen by her side, the two of them could communicate well as they fought together.

Xia Yu thought that she had played the game as she usually did. She did not expect that Song Xing Xing could sense that something. It seemed that Song Xing Xing's eyes were quite sharp.

Song Xing Xing continued to question Xia Yu about her relationship with Huo Yun Chen and found out that the man had asked Xia Yu to go steady a while ago.

Seeing the pink tinge on Xia Yu's face made her smile. Song Xing Xing could tell from the way Xia Yu was talking about Huo Yun Chen that she really liked that man.

This was good too.

Song Xing Xing was always worried about Xia Yu after she had learned about Xia Yu's background and difficulties. Xia Yu was a sweet girl but unfortunately, she was born into such a family.

"That's right. I heard that your leg is recovering well. Xia Yu, what are you planning to do after this? Are you going to return working at the previous hospital?"

Xia Yu lowered her head. "I'm not sure. I think I wanted to continue working at the hospital. The past few days, I have talked to the head nurse but I guess, I'll wait until my leg is properly healed."

"That's good. I was worried when I heard that you have suddenly quit your job. If it is something that you like to do, then you should go ahead and do it."

Xia Yu looked at her injured leg. "Actually, the head nurse told me that I got the admission to continue my study. However, I had to let go of that chance because of this injury."

"You can't reapply?"

"The head nurse said that she will help me to reapply." Xia Yu bit her lips and hesitated. "But if I reapplied and got the admission again, I will have to stay in F Country for two years."

"Are you worried about Huo Yun Chen?"

Xia Yu smiled. The two of them had gotten into a relationship not too long ago. Of course, she needed to consider him when she made her decision.

"Then, you should talk to him about it," Song Xing Xing said. "Actually, I think that you can still make it work even if you have to stay in F Country a few years. He would understand it. Otherwise, I can always ask the company to send Huo Yun Chen to work in F Country so that he could accompany you. Huo Yun Chen is with the NEXT Entertainment. It shouldn't be too difficult to arrange some things."

Xia Yu laughed. "Let's see. We'll have to wait until I actually receive the invitation again.. It's still too early to talk about this."
