You're My Only Star

Song Xing Xing thought that she had almost gone crazy. After she had announced to their family her pregnancy, both her parents and Lu Xun's parents fly to Capital City to visit her.

Thinking that there was a twin in Song Xing Xing's tummy made them both very excited.

Initially, Song Xing Xing did not mind having everyone under the same roof. After all, the more, the livelier. However, she soon realized that she missed the world where there was only her and Lu Xun.

With her parents around, Song Xing Xing found that her movement was not as free as it used to be.

Each time that the elders saw her, they would accompany her closely and prevented her from doing everything she used to love.

There was a lot of food that she wanted to eat but everyone was controlling her diet. Each day, her mother-in-law would stew her some nourishing soup and she had to drink them every day.

Song Xing Xing understood their concern but thought that everything was just too much.

After living together with both parents for two weeks, Song Xing Xing could not take it anymore.

The bedroom door was pushed from the outside and Lu Xun appeared.

The moment she saw her husband, Song Xing Xing jumped out of bed and walked over to Lu Xun with her arm open wide. "Hubby!"

Lu Xun was surprised when his wife suddenly ran over to his side. He walked over and wrapped his arms around her body into a tight hug before she would fall.

"What's wrong?" Seeing her expression made him worry. Lu Xun could only peck on her face a few times to help her calm down and hug her tightly. "Are you feeling unwell?"

Song Xing Xing pouted when she looked at him. "No. But I just could not take it anymore."

The corner of his lips tilted up. Lu Xun could understand what his wife was going through.

Although he spend his time mostly in his office, he could still see how their parents had been strict with Song Xing Xing the past few weeks.

Their parents were more strict than he was.

"Well, bear it for a few more days." Lu Xun ran his fingers in her hair. "Just now, my mom said, they would be returning to C Country soon. My dad still has to work and he could not leave for too long."

Song Xing Xing lowered her head and nodded. "Oh."

Lu Xun chuckled at the obedient cat in his arms. "Then, how about I take you out for a date? Let's go out and have dinner together. Then, we can walk around and shop around."

Song Xing Xing raised her head and stared back at him in excitement. However, the light in her eyes quickly dimmed as she remember that everyone had prevented her from eating outside food, saying that they were not clean or nutritious enough.

"My mother would not agree to it." Song Xing Xing pouted and lowered her head again.

Seeing the way his wife was acting like a baby made him laugh. He stretched his hand and patted her head. "Don't worry. I will talk to them. Why don't you go and get ready? I'll wait for you downstairs, alright?"

Song Xing Xing watched her husband suspiciously. Facing their parents was not an easy task and she worry that Lu Xun would be able to convince them to let her leave.

However, the invitation was too tempting and she could not say no.

After a brief hesitation, Song Xing Xing nodded and turned around to get ready for her date.

She put on a dress and covered herself with a long jacket. After checking on her complexion in the mirror for a while, Song Xing Xing finally headed downstairs.

From where she stood, Song Xing Xing could see her husband talking with her dad in a low voice. She did not know what they were discussing about but the look on her father's face was a little serious.

Song Xing Xing always knew that her father has always been hard on Lu Xun. Thinking that her father might stop them from going out made her feel anxious.

As if sensing that someone was looking at him, Song Chen raised his head and saw his daughter walking down the stairs. The serious look on his face disappeared and was placed with a smile "Xing Xing."

"Dad." Song Xing Xing shifted her gaze between the two men. "What are you two talking about?"

"Nothing much." Song Chen coughed. "The two of you are going out?"

Her hand gripped the handrail tightly. "Un." She was worried that her father was going to stop her from going out.

Song Xing Xing thought that her life was a little funny. She was already married and was about to become a mother but still had to ask permission from her parents to go out.

"Then, go and have fun," Song Chen said. "Remember not to return home too late." He exchanged a look with Lu Xun and walked over to his daughter's side to adjust her coat.

After exchanging a few words with her father, Song Xing Xing followed Lu Xun out. She sat in the passenger's seat with a dazed look on her face and waited for Lu Xun to slide into the driver's seat.

"What did you tell our parents?"

"Nothing much," Lu Xun chuckled.

"Really? Then how did they let us go out? They didn't stop you?" Song Xing Xing was a little suspicious.

After all, her mother had said that she will need someone by her side even if she wanted to take a walk in the garden for some fresh air.

"I just tell them that being cooped up in the house for a long time would not be good for your mental health. They thought my words make sense and agreed. As long as I am by your side, they don't have to worry that much."

It's that easy?

Song Xing Xing was having a hard time believing his words.

"Then, your dad said that he's planning to head back to Y City this weekend. Just now, he was giving me a long lecture on how to look after you properly once everyone had gone back."

Her eyes lit up at the thought that her life would not be restricted once their parents had gone back to their home.
